New Delhi: Pilgrims should get some cash exchanged at their home country’s bank before going to perform Haj in Saudi Arabia. The Haj Committee of India has stated that it will no longer provide 2100 riyals to Haj pilgrims this year. The pilgrims will need to arrange riyals themselves. The State Bank of India has been selected by the Ministry of Minority Affairs to distribute Riyal to the pilgrims. SBI will also handle the provision of Saudi Riyal and related insurance needs. At Haj application centres and training camps, SBI will ensure that pilgrims have access to riyals. The bank will designate a point person in each state to coordinate the distribution of riyals.
