Read About Save the Children Save the Children is a global non-profit organisation which was founded in the year 1919. Today, it is India’s leading independent child rights NGO. As of December 2021, we work in 16 states of India. Started in 2008 in India, and registered as ‘Bal Raksha Bharat’, we have changed the lives of more than 14 million (14 crore) children till date. In the year 2021, we reached over 11 lakh children. Globally, Save the Children is present in more than 80 countries and works to improve the lives of the most vulnerable children living there. Every child deserves the best chance for a bright future. And that’s why we are fiercely committed to ensuring children not only survive, but thrive. Bold in our ambition and powerful in our care, we do whatever it takes to save the world’s children. In India and around the world, Save the Children is on the ground – every day and in times of crisis. Our pioneering programmes address children’s unique needs, giving them a healthy start, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes, we are always among the first to respond and the last to leave. We are outspoken champions for children, ensuring their voices are heard and their issues are given top priority. Drawing on a century of leading expertise, we take on the toughest challenges facing the hardest-to-reach children – especially those unfairly excluded from the world’s progress.

Every year, more than 140,000 children under five years of age die from pneumonia in India – a staggering one child every four minutes. This makes Childhood Pneumonia the largest contributor to under-5 deaths in India. With the absence of awareness on the disease and accessible quality treatments at both community and public health facility level, the most disadvantaged children are the worst affected. New Delhi - India —Committed to addressing this silent emergency in the country, Philips India, Philips Foundation (with its mission to provide access to quality healthcare for disadvantaged communities) and Save the Children (global child rights organization) have joined forces to develop and prove low-cost innovative approaches for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of childhood pneumonia. The two-year pilot titled 'VISHWAS (Breath of Hope)' will bring high-quality pneumonia care to approximately 90,000 under-five children across 45 urban wards of Tonk District in Rajasthan, and two rural blocks (Prayagpur and Huzoorpur) of Bahraich distri...

About Us – Vipla Foundation

33 years ago a spirited lady from Mumbai underwent a life changing experience when she saw some children huddled together shivering and clinging to each other for comfort and warmth at a traffic signal in the heavy July rain in Mumbai. Their vulnerability moved her heart immeasurably and went on to inspire the foundation of VIPLA. Our Founder Mrs. Vipula Kadri, fondly known to her friends as ‘Vipla’, found instant support in her loved ones and began her journey into the world of social development. Today Vipla Foundation builds on her spirited determination to ensure that nothing stops the children of India from learning, growing and flourishing. This has translated into impacting countless lives of children from vulnerable communities across India. We remain committed to investing more at the very grassroots to bring change. We enable every opportunity that can help children and children with disabilities build dignified and self-reliant lives. In our efforts and interventions, we are abundant, and just like the earth – generous, inclusive and kind. Save The Children India is now known as Vipla Foundation. A new name. A renewed commitment to ensure that nothing stops the children of India from learning, growing and flourishing. At our core lies the intention to ensure that nothing stops the children of India from learning, growing and flourishing. This is why we build our programs on two major pillars – Early Interventions and System Strengthening. We believe that early i...
