Save The Tigers Season 1 Review: A fun

Story: Three frustrated husbands, Ghanta Ravi (Priyadarshi), Rahul (Abhinav Gomatam), and Vikram (Chaitanya Krishna), meet at their children’s school on Mother’s Day and find solace in each other. How did this newfound friendship awaken the Tiger (pun) in them? Is there a cost to their freedom? Review: This fun series revolves around three couples Ghanta Ravi-Hymavathi (Jordar Sujatha), Rahul-Madhuri (Pavani Gangireddy), and Vikram-Rekha (Deviyani Sharma). Directed by Teja Kakumanu and written by Pradeep Advaitham, Vijay Namoju, and S Anand Karthik, the six-episode series is a hilarious take on everyday frustrations of life experienced in households and workplaces. The creators tried to attribute certain traits to their characters to represent various conflicts in everyday modern life. It is a welcome Telugu comedy series on OTT that can be enjoyed with the family, except for some slang usage. One of the things that makes this series work as it does is its apt casting. Priyadarshi as a dairy farm businessman, Abhinav Gomatam as a lousy wannabe writer and Chaitanya Krishna as a timid and emotional husband-father-employee do justice to their characters. On the other hand, even the female lead, Sujatha, as a wife who wants to live in a gated community, Pavani Gangireddy, as a purpose-driven doctor and wife, and Deviyani, as an activist lawyer-wife, play their part well — supporting acts by Venu Tillu, Gangavva, Harshavardhan, Rohini, Saddam and others, though occasionally cli...

Save The Tigers Web Series: A campy, tried

For all the serious issues Save The Tigers wishes to talk about, be it the emptiness of activism, class conflict or the inability of men to voice out their frustrations against women in a marriage, the series is filled with lightness, from its brightly lit visuals to Ajay Arasada's peppy, urban background score to its runtime, packaged in six bite-sized episodes. The series wants you to ponder about our society and the hypocrisy of individuals, but with lots of comedy, almost making its resultant story treatment akin to making a child swallow bitter medicine with a spoonful of sugar. Similarly, there is a sharp, instantaneous sense of ingestion to it all in Save The Tigers, without a feeling of its components making their flavours or craftsmanship felt at any given point in time. Cast: Priyadarshi, Abhinav Gomatam, Chaitanya Krishna Director: Teja Kakumanu Save The Tigers is the story of three men from nearly but not entirely different walks of life. We have Rahul (Abhinav Gomatam), a techie-turned-laidback writer, Ganta Ravi (Priyadarshi), a dairy business owner who got married off by his father at 19 and Vikram (Krishna Chaitanya), a jaded copywriter who has almost but given up on his job and marriage. The three men meet for the first time at the Mothers' Day celebration in their kids' school when each of them turns up in place of their respective, headstrong wives. The wives of these men display a spectrum of purportedly annoying female behaviour - one is insistent on u...

'Save The Tigers

Filmmaker and showrunner Mahi V Raghav is thrilled that his web series Save The Tigers, a first-of-its-kind ‘family and a situational comedy’ is a super success. He talks about his success, Save The Tigers (STT) - Season 2 in his media interaction. Excerpts from the conversation. Q. Save The Tigers (STT) has become such a big hit. Mahi: I wanted to first thank the audience for such an amazing response! The success is a great team effort. The Hotstar team has supported us all through without which this success wouldn't have been possible. Save The Tigers (STT) is a no-brainer and a slice of life series about couple's and their daily conflicts and battles in relationships. We want to capture the humour through conflicts in a couple. I think this genre is untouched in OTT in Telugu, and that worked big time in our favour. And more importantly we did not take any gender stand. So the fun is generated from your everyday life experiences. Q. What does this success mean to you? Mahi: This super success yet again proved that the audience always welcomes and appreciates fresh content. We wanted the whole family to come together to watch and enjoy a clean situational comedy (sitcom) without any inhibitions. The success further pushes us to come up with more ideas on similar lines. Q. Why did you title the show as Save The Tigers (STT) Mahi: Generally, men claim themselves to be tigers; but everyone knows who the tiger in the house is (women). But at least for the outside world, man ...

'Save The Tigers' Telugu web series review

Save The Tigers (Telugu) • Cast: Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Abhinav Gomatam, Krishna Chaitanya, and Harsha Vardhan • Director: Teja Kakumanu • Music: Ajay Arsada • No. of episodes: 6 • OTT platform: Disney+ Hotstar Films about marital discord and frustrated husbands have a universal (should I say, male) appeal because of the way marital relationships have changed over the years. Several films have humorously portrayed this and they have been hugely successful, too. Director Teja Kakumanu’s Save the Tigers also follows the same route. The husbands here come from three vastly different backgrounds but share one commonality – issues with wives. More than the story, what makes this show work is how the director used the background of his respective protagonists. Synopsis Priyadarshi in ‘Save The Tigers’ web series. One day. they get arrested in a drunk-and-drive case. Meanwhile, a noted actress gets kidnapped. The rest of the story deals with several aspects. Do the trio have any connection with her disappearance? What made these three men drink so much, and finally why do they call themselves “tigers”? Related: Take a sneak peek into the lives of BT...
