NZ vs ENG: Scott Kuggeleijn and Tom Blundell recreate Ajmal

New Zealand players Scott Kuggeleijn and Tom Blundell were involved in a bizarre mishap on Day 2 of New Zealand vs England, the first Test match at the Bay Oval. In the last ball of the 14th over of England’s second batting innings, Kuggeleijn delivered a short-pitched ball from round the wicket which took an edge off Stuart Broad’s bat and went high up in the sky. To everyone’s surprise, neither the bowler nor the wicketkeeper Blundell went for the catch as Broad survived a potential dismissal. Watch: England dugout reacts to the dropped catch of Stuart Broad The reactions are just 🤌 Saeed Ajmal and Shoaib Malik's dropped catch in 2008 In 2008, during a T20I match between West Indies and Pakistan, Ajmal had an easy catch coming towards him, as he seemed confused by the presence of Malik around him. While Malik witnessed the incident from the closest distance, Ajmal let the drop on the ground without even trying to put his hands under it. Although the incident took a place well over a decade ago, witnessing a similar dropped catch in England vs New Zealand Funny, Kuggeleijn doesn’t normally wait for a no he just goes anyway. — Luke Gray (@LukeGray1997) All round some of the worst test cricket in one short clip. Nightwatchman playing a horrific shot and thinking he is prime Lara then for the bowler and keeper to do what they did is nothing short of school kid cricket. Test cricket has fallen down a long long way

IPL 2021

The Aussie cricketer flew back to his nation as the cases of Covid-19 kept mounting in India. Scott Kuggeleijn And Cricket's Silence On Sexual Violence

⚠️ Content warning: sexual violence ⚠️ Image: Dominico Zapata, Fairfax NZ (now Stuff.co.nz) Statement 1: “He said everything was okay and then she began crying, also that he had been trying for a while and that he had finally cracked it.” Statement 2: ”A reluctant consent is still a consent.” Statement 3: ”I tried twice, like she might have said ‘no, no’ a few times but it wasn’t dozens of times.” This week, Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) announced that they had signed a 29 year old New Zealand international. His name is Scott Kuggeleijn, and for all the wrong reasons, he is not just another cricketer. In July 2015, in connection with events that took place on the night of 17 May of that year, Kuggeleijn was arrested and charged with rape. He was tried twice, first in 2016 when a hung jury could not return a verdict and again in 2017 when he was not found guilty. A month after the second trial, Kuggeleijn was New Zealand Cricket’s only comment after his acquittal was that they “respected the court process and [were] not in the business of relitigating the past…[The court is] the most appropriate forum for judging matters as serious as this.” This, of course, completely missed the point. Nobody has asked New Zealand Cricket, or any of his franchise teams, to relitigate anything. Nobody has asked them to judge the legal facts of the case. But as the responses to RCB’s tweet announcing his signing revealed, many, many people are dismay...
