BCCI stands for Board of Control for Cricket in India. It is the national governing body for cricket in India. Its main office is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra's Wankhede stadium. It is formed in December 1928 to replace Calcutta Cricket Board and is headquartered in Mumbai.



The BCCI regulation, Clause 6.2.4 stated that "no administrator of BCCI could have had, directly or indirectly, any commercial interest in the matches or events conducted by the cricket board". Later, after the start of IPL in 2008, the clause was amended to give unfavorable benefit to BCCI members such that they can own stakes in the IPL.



Expressing his perspective on India’s defeat, BCCI President Roger Binny stated that Rohit and his teammates suffered the loss right from the opening day of the match. He specifically highlighted the impressive performances by Head and Smith, which ultimately shifted the momentum in the game.
