Despite having no formal math education or training, Ramanujan, an Indian mathematician, taught himself complex mathematics and became one of the most influential mathematicians who ever lived. Despite his short life, he is well known for his incredible contributions to the fields of number theory, analysis, and continued fractions.

Bhaskaracharya, or Bhaskara II, is regarded almost without question as the greatest Hindu mathematician of all time and his contribution to not just Indian, but world mathematics is undeniable. As L Gurjar states:. Because of his work India gave a definite 'quota' to the forward world march of the science. [ LG, P 104]

Craig Glenday, editor in chief, Guinness World Records said Shakuntala Devi''s astounding achievement continues to hold its place in their archives after so many years. "No one has been able to even equal, let alone break, this record which is a testament to both the exceptional power of Ms Devi''s mind and the significance of this particular.

The doctrine of Barhama entitled the Brāhmasphuṭasiddhānta, is one of his early works on mathematics and astronomy. His major contribution to mathematics includes the introduction of number zero in computation. According to himself, Brahmagupta was born in 598 CE and was the follower of Shaivism.

Direct Industrial Processes: 5.2% Waste: 3.2% Agriculture, Forestry and Land Use: 18.4% To prevent severe climate change we need to rapidly reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. The world emits around 50 billion tonnes of greenhouse gases each year [measured in carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2eq)]. 1

Together these emissions make up a household's carbon footprint. The calculator estimates your footprint in three areas: home energy, transportation and waste. Everyone's carbon footprint is different depending on their location, habits, and personal choices. For an explanation of the calculator's assumptions and sources, see the Assumptions.

Biography Srinivasa Ramanujan was one of India's greatest mathematical geniuses. He made substantial contributions to the analytical theory of numbers and worked on elliptic functions, continued fractions, and infinite series. Ramanujan was born in his grandmother's house in Erode, a small village about 400 km southwest of Madras (now Chennai).

Morgan’s work is based on fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster). He formulated the chromosomal theory of linkage. He defined linkage as the co-existence of two or more genes in the same chromosome and performed dihybrid crosses in Drosophila to show that linked genes are inherited together and are located on X-chromosome.
