Introduction Baddha Konasana (BAH-dah koh-NAH-suh-nuh) opens up the groin area and hip joint. It also helps relieve urinary disorders, sciatica pain, and hernia regulates the menstrual flow, and keeps the kidneys, bladder, and prostate health. This is an excellent pose for pregnant women in preparation for childbirth.



Supta Baddha Konasana is the supine variation of Baddha Konasana. It is often practiced at the start of the session or at the very end, as a restorative and meditative pose. It can also be used during a hip sequence to promote the opening of the hips and is helpful in getting a positive lateral movement in the knees.
