SWR is a shame which provides third-world standard of train service. I usually only need to take it once or twice a month, but still I experience delays or cancellations about 50% of the time. When there is delay/ cancellation, you wouldn’t be able to find any staff in the station to help you. And not to mention that the trains are dirty, stations are run-down and many facilities broken. I feel sorry for those who need to take it everyday. But no wonder, given the numerous negative comments here, one can tell that the management of the company simply don’t give a damn. Nothing changed in 20 years.......Trains delayed Saturday night & little or no info given. Spent ages on a train that their own website said was cancelled. Supposedly lifts out at Woking - how this affects trains? Eventually said it was points problems. On the inward journey it was all 'apologise we are running 5 minutes late. On the long journey home, there was nothing..even when someone got off and collapsed & doors stuck. Got a split ticket from Plymouth to Salisbury (1st time doing this journey) and as soon as I got off at Exeter St David's their was no clear signs to where I needed to go to pick up my connecting train to Salisbury, so I followed the crowed then found the screen to tell me I had 3 mi s to get from platform 5 to platform 1 over the footbridge with a small dog and suitcase ?
