Logo text [This story contains spoilers for Quentin Beck. Elite stuntman. Failed Actor. Forsaken scientist. Master illusionist. All these things have been used to describe one of Spider-Man’s most enduring villains: Spider-Man: Far From Home?Let’s take a look at the legacy of Mysterio and what makes this Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance so uniquely different from that of his Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko for The Amazing Spider-Man #13 (1964), Quentin Beck was a professional stuntman who was at the top of his craft when it came to working on movies. Not only was he a skilled hand-to-hand combatant, but his knowledge of robotics and special effects made him one of the most highly respected people in his field. However, that respect didn’t transfer when he decided he wanted to become an actor and a leading man. Hurt by the repeated rejection, he crafted a suit that would utilize his greatest skill — the art of deception. He used his trained skills of illusions, hallucinogens and even hypnotic methods to terrorize the city of New York and even other universes. Beck doesn’t have any mutant powers or bestowed abilities. Instead, he went to work creating gear that will let him compete in the age of heroes. In fact, one of Mysterio’s most well-known storylines barely mentions him at all — Old Man Logan. The alternate future comic arc, published from 2008 to 2009 and also loosely adapted into 2017’s Logan, showed a reclusive and weary Wolverine, having been in a self-impos...

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, all of the characters travel in different cities of Europe, and Peter Parker doesn't want to be seen as Spider-Man there to avoid to reveal his identity. So in Prague, he used another type of suit, but Some of his friends saw him, and Ned call him the Night Monkey Is this some kind of reference to another comic book? Or is it just made up for the movie? Short answer, No. Despite a lot of Marvel's movies relying on the comics for inspiration, this time that's not the case. There is no comic version of Spider-Man known as Night Monkey (or at least not yet). It would seem that the name Night Monkey, which is actually a real type of monkey, by the way, is a creation purely for this film. However, there is a monkey-based Marvel character named Hit-Monkey Earth-616 Quoting Deadpool, His name is Hit-Monkey. He's a hitman. Who's a monkey. You don't believe me? Look around you, dude -- he's real. Unfortunately, Hit-Monkey isn't the character motivation behind Night-monkey. As far as I can tell Night Monkey is an entirely new creation for the film and there is no previous character with the same name. Executive producer Eric Carroll has spoken about the design for the suit and its inspiration but doesn't mention the name. While this particular stealth suit is a new creation for the MCU, drawing on the visual language established by the movies already, it does have some notable comic inspirations. “It’s inspired by a bunch of different looks in the comic...

Is Mysterio in SPIDER

Jake Gyllenhaal’s Mysterio is heading our way in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but he might not be the villain you were expecting. In fact, he might not be a villain at all. In the comics, Mysterio — real name Quentin Beck — is one of Spider-Man’s The Amazing Spider-Man #13, portrayed as a bitter Hollywood stuntman, magician, and special effects designer. After Quentin fails to make headway in the film industry, he realizes his skill set could instead aid in a life of crime. He devises illusions and gadgets specifically built to counter Spider-Man — with his most famous being an engineered gas that can act as a smokescreen and hallucinogen. Quentin builds a Spider-Man costume to commit crimes, with the plan of appearing as Mysterio to defeat the real Spider-Man once public opinion has shifted. He of course loses, but that failure never stops him from finding new and inventive ways to trick and defeat the webslinger. The Marvel Cinematic Universe often remixes its villains from their comic book roots, though. We learned while on the London set of Far From Home that this version of Mysterio isn’t Spider-Man’s antagonist at all. In fact, he’s an ally of Nick Fury and Maria Hill. Even more intriguing, he claims he’s from an alternate universe as a result of the events of Endgame. “Mysterio is a hero in our world,” director Jon Watts said. Fury enlists him on his team alongside Peter to help deal with a growing threat of element-based monsters appearing around the globe. Consideri...
