Special Service Force

In 1942 a highly specialized joint Canadian-American force was created to undertake special operations in Europe. In order that 500 "all ranks" could be recruited without undue publicity being directed towards their future role, the 2nd Canadian Parachute battalion was raised at the same time as the 1st, coming into order on 10 July 1942. On 25 May 1943 it became the 1st Canadian Special Force Battalion, with its officers and men distributed with the Americans throughout the multi-national unit. The [ citation needed] The 1st Special Service Force then advanced as far as the Tiber before being deployed for the invasion of southern France, where it spearheaded the landing force. After seeing action on the Franco-Italian border, the joint force was disbanded and the Canadian element was separated. It, too, was disbanded in December 1944, having fought well, earning ten Post World War II: Canadian Army Special Service Force [ ] In 1977, 2Combat Group combined with the The Force was a In keeping with the Total Force concept that evolved in the late 1980s a number of combat arms units of the Army Reserve were assigned operational taskings to provide subordinate units in order to augment the Special Service Force when required. A Friends Stuff!

That’s interesting. Here is another Ike with the red/white/black shoulder cord. At least we know more than one unit wore them. Did the guy who this came from state what the shoulder cord represented? Brent The red/white/blue shoulder cord was unique to the FSSF. Actually the cord should not be worn on this Ike as the soldier was not currently a member of the FSSF. Although many did! With the 474th patch on the left this is a jacket from after the FSSF disbandment. Many forcemen went to the 474th. Ray ..... I think these are actually French made. The thing to remember is 474th was activated in France on Jan 6th 1945. The FSSF left Italy on Nov 30, 1944 and was inactivated Jan 5, 1945 in France. The between period would certainly allow for something to be made in France. (The FSSF knowing they were to be folded into the new unit or the 474th after activation.) It doesn't make sense that either unit would bother to send to Italy for patches when they could be made locally. Also, I have a WW2 era QM supply catalog that has a number of theater made patches some of which are French made and they have a similar embroidery pattern. Bill This is a really nice 474th RCT Ike and definitely from an old-timer. It is unusual that the guy would have transferred to the 474th when the vast majority of jump qualified forcemen were shipped out to the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions as replacements. Most of the men who remained with the 474th had been Rangers who had been assigned to the FS...

These uniforms are automatically updated every frame, making it easy to create reactive visuals without performing any of your own audio analysis. Many of the uniforms rely on Level These uniforms track the level (loudness) of specific frequency bands, with some added smoothing to reduce jitter. They are normalized to the range 0.0 to 1.0. • syn_Level (whole spectrum) • syn_BassLevel • syn_MidLevel • syn_MidHighLevel • syn_HighLevel Hits These uniforms detect 'hits' within specific frequency bands, spiking in value during the isolated transients. Great for tracking drum hits or percussive action. Use these uniforms to make a scene move more when the music picks up, or to create pulsing movement (like a camera that moves forward on each kick). Note that these do not normalize ...
