Associated Ceramics

Physical Properties Of Associated Ceramics Steatite Steatite is a crystalline form of magnesium silicate. It is a low loss, low cost, relatively good strength insulating material which can function safely at temperatures up to 2,000°F. Applications include high frequency insulation, resistor cores and casings, and appliance insulators. Table converts to a left/right scrolling table when viewed on mobile devices or smaller screens. Steatite is a kind of gemstone called "Talc". Talc containing a lot of impurities is called "Steatite". In addition, it is also called "Potstone" and "Saponite". Since the information of Steatite is small, please check also with another name. By looking for information on "Talc", it is easy to find useful information. You can learn characteristics of power from "ingredient", "history", "color", "hardness" and "origin". The distribution volume of Steatite is ...

An Indus Seal (article)

Incised on this small stone (less than two inches across), we see a large figure seated on a dais surrounded by a horned buffalo, a rhinoceros, an elephant, and a tiger. Beneath the platform is a small antlered deer that is one of a pair. Although the deer on the right has broken off at some point, enough of its antler remains to determine that the deer has its head turned away from the center and, like its partner, was looking out towards the edge of the seat. An inscription (as yet untranslated), has been carved into the very top of the seal, with one symbol apparently displaced to the space between the elephant and the tiger. The stone seal, which would have been pressed onto a soft base such as clay to create a positive imprint, is dated to c. 2500–2400 B.C.E. and was found in the archaeological site of Mohenjo-daro, in what is now Sindh, Pakistan. Mohenjo-daro was one in a series of settlements that is collectively known as the Indus Valley Civilization. Named after the Indus River, this early civilization encompassed a vast swath of present-day Pakistan and northwestern India. Mohenjo-daro had an estimated 40,000 residents and was a well-planned settlement with efficient urban facilities that included street drainage, a sewage system, and large civic buildings. Residents also had access to well-water and many had baths in their homes. Seals numbering in the thousands have been discovered in excavations of Indus cities as well as in sites in the Persian Gulf in southw...

Steatite Ceramic Products

Properties of Steatite Ceramic Compared to alumina and zirconia, steatite ceramic is relatively soft. However, its outstanding dielectric properties make it ideal for electrical insulation applications; its low thermal conductivity makes it excellent for various applications. LSP Industrial Ceramics (LSP) stocks steatite ceramic products in a wide range of sizes, diameters, and configurations to meet the unique requirements of commercial, industrial, and military applications. We maintain one of the industry’s largest in-stock inventories of ceramic products. We also offer custom alumina ceramic crucibles designed and manufactured to match your exact specifications. In addition to numerous standard sizes, LSP offers steatite ceramic products in many hard-to-find sizes and lengths. We can also produce custom steatite ceramics to match your exact specifications. Request a quote today on the steatite ceramic electrical insulator, bushing, or washer you need, or contact LSP for more information. Steatite ceramic, also known as magnesium silicate, is a type of ceramic material that is composed mainly of magnesium oxide (MgO) and silicon dioxide (SiO2). It is a dense and non-porous ceramic that is often used for electrical and thermal insulation due to its high dielectric strength and low thermal expansion coefficient. Steatite ceramic has a white or gray color and is characterized by its high mechanical strength, excellent thermal shock resistance, and good chemical and corrosi...

Soapstone

Soapstone Soapstone, sometimes called Steatite, is a talc-based natural stone with some unique qualities. Soapstone pulls in heat from a fireplace or stove and will continue to radiate that heat for hours, even after the heat source has been turned off. Also, due to its talc content, acids will not etch it, making Soapstone a great choice for kitchen countertops. Soapstone is much softer than many other stones, therefore it can scratch, but it can also be sanded and buffed to remove the scratches. In doing this, buffing will create a slight unevenness in the stone, which leads to more of an old-world appeal.

Steatite Ceramic Bushings

What Are Steatite Ceramic Bushings? Steatite ceramic bushings, also known as eyelets or ferrules, exhibit excellent dielectric and thermal properties, making them ideal for use as electrical bushings and in high temp applications. The material offers outstanding durability. Steatite ceramic bushings are commonly used as antenna insulators, to support wires, rods or grids in ovens, and as wire guides in high voltage electrical equipment, among other uses. LSP Industrial Ceramics (LSP) maintains a large, in-stock inventory of steatite ceramic bushings in a range of standard sizes, diameters, and thicknesses. We also offer specialty and hard-to-find sizes, available by special order. Available either glazed or unglazed. If you are unsure of the right steatite bushing for your needs, feel free to
