The most extreme arid areas also are far removed from sources of moisture-bearing In most low-latitude deserts, Temperatures are high, with monthly means in the range 21–32 °C (70–90 °F). Daily temperature variations are extreme. Ranges of 35 °C (63 °F) are not unknown when daytime maxima in excess of 40 °C (104 °F) are followed by a rapid

What Is A Subtropical Region?

A subtropical region refers to the zones of the Earth that are immediately to the north and south of the tropic zones, bounded by the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. They are at latitude of 23.5 degrees north and south. The subtropical region loosely lies in a range between 23.5 and 35 degrees. These areas usually experience very warm to hot summers. The winters are non tropical though. The air temperature of a subtropical region does not go below the freezing point (0 degrees). For example southern Florida, northern India, coastal California, coastal South Africa and coastal Australia fall under subtropical region. Subtropical cities include Brisbane, Sydney, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Athens and New Delhi. Subtropical regions usually do not have distinctly dry or wet seasons. The term 'subtropical' is an adjective that is used for the things that belong to sub-tropic and it is sub-tropic that describes a kind of region that is a latitudinal one and can be located between 23.5 degree and 34.0 degree in either of the hemisphere. The zone is at the border of the tropical zone. The area of sub-tropic is considered to be semi-permanent high-pressure zone and it is in this area where North Pacific Highs can be found. The adjective term can be used for anything that belongs to it and climate is the prime among them. As it is climate that decides what kind of organisms or vegetation that can be grown in a particular area, you can also use the term sub-tropical for these...

Pacific Ocean

Although in general the climatic conditions of the trade-wind belts are characteristically regular and uniform, storms of great violence do originate there. In such storms, winds of exceptionally strong force spiral inward toward a centre of exceedingly low cyclones for those that occur several times a year off that continent’s northeast coast and batter the The Within the belts of the westerly winds, cold easterly winds from polar regions meet the warm westerly winds of the middle latitudes, causing the formation of the traveling depressions characteristic of middle latitudes. The zone of convergence, or The westerlies in the Southern Hemisphere are steady and strong, and their popular name, “brave west winds,” is apt. The The The western Pacific is subject to a seasonal climatic regime that replaces the planetary system. This is the regime of the As a result of seasonal changes in pressure and wind circulation, marked seasonal contrast between continental and maritime influences—the first associated with drought and cold and the second with moisture and heat—is to be found in the whole of the western Pacific from the

Most subtropical climates fall into two basic types: Subtropical climates can also occur at high elevations within the A great portion of the world's deserts are within the subtropics, as this is where the semi-permanent subtropical anticyclone resides (typically inland on the southwest sides of continents). Areas bordering warm oceans (typically on the southeast sides of continents) have hot and wet summers with frequent (but brief) convective rainfall ( Definition [ ] Several methods have been used to define the subtropical climat...
