Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually attend a meeting of SWAGAT (State Wide Attention on Grievances by Application of Technology), an initiative of the Gujarat government, on April 27 as the good governance initiative started by him when he was the state chief minister in 2003 completes 20 years on Sunday, a release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said on Friday. On the occasion of SWAGAT completing 20 years, the Gujarat government is celebrating the last week of April as ‘Swagat Saptah’. The SWAGAT initiative entails a system devised through information technology, in which the CM himself listens to the grievances of the people virtually on the last Thursday of every month in the presence of concerned officials. It has been devised with an objective that the applicant does not have to come to the secretariat in person for the redressal of his/her complaints.
