On the fateful evening of May 29, Sidhu Moose Wala was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district. Notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has been declared the mastermind of the conspiracy. On Thursday, June 23, Anti-Gangster Task Force chief Pramod Ban stated that Bishnoi has confessed to planning the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala in retaliation of youth Akali leader Middukhera's murder. “We had recently arrested Lawrence Bishnoi in the case and his remand was extended till June 27. He has admitted that he was the mastermind. The plan to carry out the killing was being hatched since August last year. According to our information, recce was done thrice. In January too, a different group of shooters had come to kill Moosewala but could not do so," ADGP Ban told media persons.
