T20 World cup points table The 2022 ICC T20 World Cup kicks off with a clash between Sri Lanka and Namibia at Geelong in Australia on 16 October. The World Cup has been divided into Round 1, Super 12 and knockout stages. Eight teams divided into two groups will take part in Round 1. Group A includes Sri Lanka, Namibia, UAE and Netherlands, while Group B has West Indies, Scotland, Zimbabwe and Ireland. The top two teams from each group will join eight more teams that have directly qualified for the Super 12 stage. The directly qualified teams have been divided into two groups. Australia, New Zealand, England and Afghanistan are part of Group 1 while India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa have been placed in Group 2. Group 1 will also include two qualified teams (A1 and B2) from Round 1 while Group 2 will include the other two (A2 and B1). Just like in Round 1, the teams will play each other in their group and the top two sides from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. Round 1 will be played between 16 to 21 October.
