India beat Pakistan India won by 4 wickets (with 0 balls remaining)

11.12pm And that concludes our live coverage of this game. I need half an hour of simply sitting down and soaking it all in, and I'm sure you do too. But once you're done, do come back to read and watch all our post-match coverage, which I'm sure will be of the highest quality, much like the game you just witnessed. Congrats to India, tough luck to Pakistan, and let's hope fans on both sides of the divide react to the result with equanimity and the recognition that this was, above all, a superlative game of cricket. Until next time, it's goodbye from me, Matt, Ranjith and Thilak. Rohit Sharma: "I have no voice left. We were always wanting to make sure we stayed in the game as long as possible. We've been talking constantly about it. No matter what the situation, you've got to believe you can pull through, and that partnership changed the game for us. There was good carry, good swing as well, and we utilised that well up front. That was good to see from the bowling perspective. They batted well in the middle. We knew it would not be an easy target on that pitch. We knew we would have to bat out of our skins. Virat and Hardik are experienced guys. Staying calm and taking it as deep as possible was critical, and they did that. It's good for our confidence to get off the mark in our first game, and the way we won is more pleasing for us, the way we came back. Hats off to Virat. It has to go off as not one of his best, but the best innings he has played for India. Thanks to eve...

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav hit a blistering half-century to spur India to 186/5 against Zimbabwe in their last group match in the T20 World Cup on Sunday. Opting to bat first after winning the toss, skipper Rohit Sharma was dismissed early but KL Rahul carried on to score a 35-ball 51. Suryakumar then smashed an unbeaten 61 from 25 balls. India (Playing XI): "I think the plan was very clear when me and Hardik were batting together. He said we should take a positive route and we started hitting the ball and never stopped. I think the atmosphere in the team is really nice and so is the build-up towards the knockout, really looking forward to that game. My plan has always been clear, I do the same thing in the nets, I practise the same shots. I bat according to the situation and what the team needs. It feels really good, to be there (number 1 ranked T20I batter). You got to start from zero everytime, that's what I think. It's good to see people come out, let's see how it goes in the next game." Ashwin snares Ryan Burl! The half-century partnership which was looking...

Sri Lanka vs. England T20 World Cup result: Highlights and full scorecard as Ben Stokes guides England to semi finals

England held on to claim a nervy victory against Sri Lanka to secure their spot in the semi finals of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka made an aggressive start, but their opponents were able to take control in the latter stages of the innings, holding them to 141 runs. Mid-way through their innings, England appeared to be cruising towards a win as Jos Buttler and Alex Hales crushed boundaries at will. However, Sri Lanka clawed their way back into the contest courtesy of some strong fielding. This saw the match reach the final over, but Ben Stokes stood tall to win the game for England with three balls remaining. Stokes was brought in at No.3 to cover for Dawid Malan - who appeared to injure his groin whilst fielding - and kept his side on track as they struggled to hold firm. Due to their superior net run rate, the result means England overtakes Australia in the group standings, sending the host nation and reigning champions out of the tournament.
