[Verse 1] You think I'm pretty without any makeup on You think I'm funny when I tell the punch line wrong I know you get me, so I let my walls come down, down Before you met me, I was alright But things were kinda heavy, you brought me to life Now every February, you'll be my Valentine, Valentine [Pre-Chorus] Let's go all the way tonight No regrets, just love We can dance until we die You and I, we'll be young forever [Chorus] You make me feel like I'm livin' a teenage dream The way you turn me on, I can't sleep Let's run away and don't ever look back Don't ever look back My heart stops when you look at me Just one touch, now, baby, I believe This is real, so take a chance and don't ever look back Don't ever look back [Verse 2] We drove to Cali and got drunk on the beach Got a motel and built a fort out of sheets I finally found you, my missing puzzle piece, I'm complete [Pre-Chorus] Let's go all the way tonight No regrets, just love We can dance until we die You and I, we'll be young forever [Chorus] You make me feel like I'm livin' a teenage dream The way you turn me on, I can't sleep Let's run away and don't ever look back Don't ever look back My heart stops when you look at me Just one touch, now, baby, I believe This is real, so take a chance and don't ever look back Don't ever look back [Bridge] I'ma get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans Be your teenage dream tonight Let you put your hands on me in my skin-tight jeans Be your teenage dream tonight (Tonight, to...

"Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry

This is a song that is both nostalgic and present-based at the same time. By design, “Teenage Dream” is meant to harp back to the feeling of falling in love for the first time, which is something most people tend to experience when they’re teenagers. And the lyrics do commence by putting the listener under the impression that Katy is referring to a romance with the addressee that jumped off back in the day. But once we get to the chorus, it is revealed that the addressee is her current lover. And what she is basically saying is that being with him and the type of carefree fun they enjoy together is essentially making her feel as if she’s falling in love again for the first time. This feeling is buttressed by the fact that her relationship with the addressee is such that she does not have any reservations when around him. And that particular sentiment also bring us to the notable and intended sexual undertone of this piece. But as for the thesis sentiment, what the vocalist ultimately seems to be speaking to (true to the youth-oriented motif of the lyrics) is being so smitten that there is no concern for this relationship’s tomorrow so to speak, as the present itself is so edifying. Conclusion All in all, Katy Perry finds herself in a situation where she is currently enjoying a meaningful romance with her partner. This gives her a sense of joy and carefreeness akin to a teenage love. When was “Teenage Dream” released? On the 23rd of July, 2010, Katy Perry released “Teenage ...

She explained to MTV News why she named the album after this track. "I want to call it Teenage Dream because there's a song on the record [called that] and I wrote that song in Santa Barbara and it was a very pure moment for me, because that's where I'm from," she said. In her 2010 London Live special, Perry elaborated: "'Teenage Dream' is a euphoric feeling. It gives off this feeling that a lot of people have been through. I remember my teenage years, and I remember falling in love for the first time and how impressionable that was. How sensitive I was to every feeling. Heartbreak was really hard. Of course heartbreak is really hard now, and love is still intense, but it's a different type of feeling, that teenage love. I want people to have that feeling again of falling in love unabashedly - those teenage dreams." • Perry re-teamed with her " Billboard magazine: "Katy definitely knows what she wants and doesn't want. About Teenage Dream "Teenage Dream" is a song by American singer Katy Perry. It was released as the second single from her third studio album of the same name on July 23, 2010. Perry and Bonnie McKee wrote many songs with youthful themes in mind, but they were rejected by producers Benny Blanco and Dr. Luke. Blanco showed them The Teenagers' single "Homecoming", and McKee imagined "Teenage Dream" as a throwback song to the euphoric feelings of being in love as a teenager. They met with Max Martin in Perry's hometown of Santa Barbara, California and started writing the track at Playback Recording Studio, which Perry later described as a pure moment for her. After Perry recorded her vocals, McKee presented her idea and the chorus was rewritten. Perry also described the song as reminiscent of her youth while contemplating her future marriage to Russell Brand. Musically, "Teenage Dream" is a mid-tempo pop song with a retro sound. It is styled in the genres of power pop and electropop, while taking influence from other genres such as disco and pop rock. Perry starts the song in a high-pitched voice while her vocals grow stronger as the song progresses. Lyrically, "Teenage Dream" discusses being with a lover who makes one feel young again. The song has topped the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Perry's third number-one single on that chart, and her second consecutive number-one single after "California Gurls". "Teenage Dream" has been certified seven times platinum in the United Sta...
