Over 70 Rajya Sabha seats will fall vacant between April to August this year and the current electoral results will have a clear impact. 11 seats fall vacant in UP and are expected to tilt now in favour of BJP with some SP presence. Uttarakhand’s one vacant RS seat should also gravitate to the party. Punjab’s seven RS seats, however, could be tricky now with Aam Aadmi Party sweeping to power in the state.
