Times Higher Education Rankings 2023 has been announced. This year, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore has secured the top place among the Indian universities. World University Rankings 2023 by subject: physical sciences

The physical sciences subject ranking uses the same trusted and rigorous performance indicators as the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields. It highlights the universities that are leading across the following disciplines: mathematics and statistics, physics and astronomy, chemistry, geology, environmental sciences, and earth and marine sciences. This year’s table includes 1,307 universities, up from 1,227 last year. It has swapped places with the University of California, Berkeley, which now shares second with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Meanwhile, Switzerland’s ETH Zurich maintains its position in the top 10 for the eighth consecutive year, ranking once again at ninth place. Both of Singapore’s universities on the list have moved up the table since last year. TU Delft scores higher in Times Higher Education Impact Ranking in 2023

TU Delft scores significantly higher on Climate Action in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking in 2023 than in 2022; from position 55 to 15. THE publishes an annual set of global rankings in which universities are ranked according to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). There is a ranking for each of the 17 SDGs and an Overall ranking. Universities decide which rankings they participate in. TU Delft participates in the ranking of four goals: Industry Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Climate Action (SDG 13), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17). The combined score of the goals determines the position on the Overall ranking. Strong position of TU Delft This year, TU Delft has risen in two rankings. This applies to the goal 'Climate Action', from place 55 to 15 and to 'Affordable and Clean Energy', from 81 to 79. On 'Industry Innovation and Infrastructure', the university maintained the fifth position. This year TU Delft is participating for the first time in the Overall Ranking and is in the range 101-200. MSU ranked highly for sustainability by Times Higher Education
