Telangana State Directorate of School Education has released the academic calendar for 2022-2023. The direction from the department states that the schools should start every day at 9 am and ends by 4 pm. The schools will operate with 230 working days for the current academic year. The Summative Assessment- 1 exams will be conducted from November 1 to 7 while the Summative Assessment -II exams will be held from April 10 to 17. It has been directed that pre -final exams for Class X should be conducted by the end of February and also SSC public examinations will be conducted in the month of March, the academic calendar read. The decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety and health of students, Government have carefully reviewed the situation arising due to the rise in Covid-19 cases and have decided to declare summer holidays for all the schools and junior colleges in the state with effect from April 27, 2021 to May 31, 2021, said an order issued by the Telangana witnessed the highest number of Covid-19 cases as well as deaths in a single day spike with 8,126 fresh infections and 38 more fatalities, the state government said on Sunday. The cases tally stands at over 3.95 lakh while the toll rose to 1,999.

Hyderabad: The School Education department on Tuesday released the academic calendar for the year 2023-24. The schools reopening on June 12 will have a total of 229 working days with April 23, 2024 as the last working day. The ‘Badi Bata’ (admission drive) in government and local body schools will be conducted till June 9.
