NEW DELHI: Strong tremors were felt in Delhi-NCR and north India region after a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Himalayan region near Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand along the Nepal border. Apart from Delhi, the tremors were felt in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh as well as in Gurugram and Ghaziabad. The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) said the epicentre of the 6.3 magnitude earthquake, which struck at 1.57 am, was in Nepal, about 90 km east-southeast of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. "I was in office when my seat started to shake. An earthquake alarm went off in the office after which we vacated the premises. We went back in after about 10 minutes," ANI quoted an employee in Noida firm as saying. A local from Noida said that she was in the office when earthquake occurred. "Only after it ended did we realise it was a strong earthquake. We then left the building," she said.
