Royal scion Pradyot Kishore’s TIPRA Motha party, which was seen as the kingmaker in Tripura, bagged 13 seats, while the Left-Congress alliance secured 14, with Debbarma’s party eating into the Left’s tribal votes. The Trinamool Congress did not win a single of the 28 seats it contested. The next big question is about Tripura’s leadership. Although before the elections the party publicly acknowledged that incumbent Chief Minister Manik Saha is its CM face, speculation is rife that the party may review it now that the elections are over. Tripura Election 2023 Live Updates: EC says tentative voter turnout recorded at around 80%, polling remained 'largely violence-free' Tripura Assembly Elections 2023 Live Updates: The Election Commission on Thursday said the Tripura assembly polls remained "largely violence-free", with Bru migrant voters being able to exercise their franchise for the first time in many years. The tentative voter turnout was recorded at around 80 per cent. Final turnout figures will be known by Friday, it said.No complaints have been received so far by the EC demanding repolling, EC officials said. Early trends • The ruling BJP-IPFT alliance in Tripura is ahead of the opposition Left-Congress, according to early trends on TV channels. • The BJP-IPFT alliance is ahead in 25-36 seats, while the Left-Congress alliance was leading in 11-23 seats. • The Tipra Motha, led by former royal Pradyot Debbarma, was also leading in 8-12 seats, early trends showed. Tripura Election Results: The BJP-IPFT alliance won 33 seats in the 60-member Tripura assembly, securing its return to power in the northeastern state for the second time in a row. According to the Election Commission website, the BJP bagged 30 seats while the Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) got one.
