The killers tried to flee on a motorcycle with their faces covered after killing Kanhaiya Lal. They were nabbed from Rajsamand district's Bhim area. On Tuesday, both the accused approached the victim Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor, as customers. They attacked Kanhaiya Lal, murdered him, and made a video of the same. Later, they also posted a video on social media and boasted about the incident. They also threatened to take PM Modi’s life.

The Hindu tailor had recently shared a tweet in support of suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma who had made controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammed. Both men went to the victim, Kanhiaya Lal pretending to be customers. One of the accused, Riyaz Akhtar attacked Kanhaiya Lal with a sharp-edged weapon while the other, Ghouse Mohammad, recorded the crime on his mobile phone. Prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC were imposed across Rajasthan after protests broke out over the beheading of a Hindu shopkeeper on Tuesday. The murder was recorded on camera by two men and the video has gone viral on social media. The two accused were arrested by the police in Bheem area of Rajsamand district on Tuesday night.
