The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami, and MoS Defence Ajay Bhati, reach Pauri district, where the bus accident took place on the 4th of October. CM Dhami visits the site to take cognizance of the matter. Remember, 25 died and 21 got injured after a bus fell in a gorge in Uttarakhand's Pauri Garhwal district. Earlier, Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Disaster Management Authority office in Dehradun to assess the situation. Twenty-one people have been rescued so far and the operation is still on, the state police said. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had asked the state disaster management centre to constantly monitor the situation.

At least 24 people were killed after a bus carrying pilgrims fell into a gorge near Damta on the Yamunotri National Highway in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district on Sunday, police said. The bus had around 30 pilgrims from Panna district of Madhya Pradesh and a driver. The accident took place between Damta and Barnigad, which is around 70 km from Yamunotri Dham at around 7.15 p.m., after the driver allegedly fell asleep at the wheel. It was said that this was his third trip without a rest.

Chouhan in a tweet on Monday said, “Urged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh ji over phone this morning that the bodies of our brothers and sisters from Panna, who died in the bus accident in Uttarakhand, be brought to Madhya Pradesh with respect by the IAF aircraft. He accepted my request. I express my heartfelt gratitude to him." The CM had on Sunday announced that Rs 5 lakh will be given to the kin of each of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured persons. At least 32 people died after a bus with 55 passengers fell into a 500-metre gorge in Uttarakhand’s Kotdwar district on Tuesday. As many as 20 passengers have sustained injuries, and have been moved to a hospital. Teams of SDRF and NDRF are carrying out rescue operations. The death toll in the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kotdwar, Shekhar Suyal said the bus was on its way to Pauri from Haridwar when it fell into the gorge near the Birokhal area of Dhumakot under Kotdwar block on Tuesday night, the police said. “We have rescued all those who were there in the vehicle and now the spot is being investigated to know the cause of the accident,” Mr. Suyal said. DEHRADUN: At least 25 people were killed and several more feared dead as a bus carrying a marriage party fell into a deep gorge in Timari village, about 70km ahead of Dhumakot in Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand late Tuesday evening. According to initial reports, the bus carrying 40-45 people was coming from Laldhang in Haridwar via Kandagaon. The accident occurred on the Rikhnikhal-Birokhal road, according to the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC). "State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams have been mobilised and rushed to the accident spot. We are trying our best to rescue the people and take them to hospital at the earliest. Local villagers are helping in the effort," said Dhami. Officials told TOI that rescue personnel are facing difficulties due to the dark and also the difficult terrain.
