The Vice President of India serves as the ex-officio Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India. In this role, the Vice President presides over the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha and ensures that the rules and procedures of the house are followed. Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar has nominated legendary former athlete PT Usha to the panel of vice-chairperson in the upper house of the Parliament.
