Malaysian Vision Valley 2.0 could contribute up to 15% of country's GDP, says Negri rep

PORT DICKSON: The Malaysian Vision Valley 2.0 (MVV2.0) is expected to contribute up to 15% to the country's gross domestic product (GDP) once all plans in the development are completed in 2045, says Datuk Dr Mohamad Rafie Ab Malek. The state investment, industrialisation, education, entrepreneurship and human capital committee chairman said to achieve this, support from the Federal Government is crucial. He said Negri Sembilan needed support such as the construction of infrastructure including highways, particularly in the MVV2.0 area, and the exploration of alternative or renewable energy sources. Mohamad Rafie, who is also NS Corporation chairman, said MVV2.0 initiatives were to promote economic growth and position Negri as a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable state by 2045. "MVV2.0 has been designed to drive the growth of Negri and it includes six development parcels," he said at the launch of the Catalyst Projects for MVV2.0 by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Parcel A, covering an area of 1,148ha, is planned as a high-tech industrial area known as NS High Tech Industrial Park. The second, Parcel B which spans 3,600ha, is planned as the development area for Smart County, which will, among others, have a new central business district in Seremban, encompassing residential and commercial areas and light and medium industries.
