Technically, summer does not start for another 9 days ... but before we get started on that topic, I wanted to address the elephant in the weather room — El Niño! There is certainly a lot of hype and chatter going on through the weather community about this topic. So let's get up to speed a bit. समस्तीपुर में गर्मी ने पिछले आठ सालों का रिकार्ड तोड़ दिया है। तीन दिनों से जहां तापमान 41 डिग्री से अधिक रह रहा है। वहीं आठ सालों बाद ऐसी प्रचंड गर्मी रही है। आठ साल पूर्व 2015 में आज के दिन अधिकतम तापमान 42.4 डिग्री सेल्सियस रिकार्ड किया गया था। जबकि पिछले आठ सालों में अधिकतम तापमान 40 डिग्री से नीचे रहा था। डॉ राजेंद्र केंद्रीय कृषि विश्वविद्यालय मौसम विभाग के वैज्ञानिक डॉ गुलाब सिंह ने बताया कि बारिश शुरू होने से पूर्व गर्मी से राहत की उम्मीद कम है। उन्होंने कहा कि मानसून भी दो -तीन दिन लेट यानी 15-17 के बीच आने के आसार है। बारिश लेट होने से गर्मी से राहत नहीं मिलेगी। पिछले 24 घंटे के दौरान समस्तीपुर जिले के अधिकतम तापमान 41.4 डिग्री रिकार्ड किया गया जो समान्य तापमान से 4.3 डिग्री सेल्सियस अधिक है। न्यूनतम तापमान 24.4 डिग्री दर्ज की गई है। इस दौरान 5.7 किलोमीटर की रफ्तार से पछुआ हवा चली। सुबह की सापेक्ष आर्द्रता 62 फीसदी रही जबकि दोपहर में सापेक्ष आर्द्रता 31 फीसदी रही। गर्मी से परेशान लोग फलुदा का मजा लेते हुए तापमान में और बढ़ोतरी के आसार मौसम वैज्ञानिक ने कहा कि गुरुवार को और गर्मी होने की उम्मीद है। तापमान 42 को पार कर सकता है। इस दौरान गर्म पछिया हवा 8-12 किलोमीटर की रफ्तार से चलेगी। दोपहर में लू की स्थिति बनी रहेगी। गर्मी से लोग पड़ रहे बीमार पड़ रही प्रचंड गर्मी के कारण लोग लू की चपेट में आ रहे हैं। बुधवार को बाजार में दो महिलाएं अचानक बेहोश हो गई। जिन्हें स्थानीय लोगों के सहयोग से सदर अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया। दो दिनों में लू के चपेट में आने से 22 लोग सदर अस्पताल पहुंचे। पिकू वार्ड भी बच्चों से भरा हुआ है।
