Mysuru: Nearly five years after its inauguration, the office of the deputy commissioner has been shifted to the new building located at Siddharth Nagar. Mysuru DC KV Rajendra on Thursday informed that henceforth, he would be working from the new office. Despite the building being inaugurated by then chief minister Siddaramaiah in March 2018, the officials had not shown any interest to shift to the new location and continued to work from the old building, which is a heritage property. Now, with chief minister Siddaramaiah expected to visit Mysuru next week, officials are making all arrangements to welcome him to the new DC office complex, where he is also expected to hold a review meeting. Then PWD minister HC Mahadevappa had taken lead in its construction. Now that he is expected to be appointed as the Mysuru district in-charge minister, officials are preparing for his visit to the new DC office. About six departments were shifted to the new facility in 2022. However, the deputy commissioner’s office continued to work from the old building, known as Attara Kacheri, which was built during the maharajas’ rule.
