I am really privileged to have the pleasant task of welcoming the august gathering for celebration of 63 rd Republic day of India. On behalf of Velammal Vidyashram and on my own behalf, I warmly and respectfully welcome the chief guest retired Inspector General of Police, Mr.T.S.PANCHAPAKESAN IPS. 62 years ago, on this day India defined itself as a free sovereign republic egalitarian secular and democratic. On this 63 rd celebration of republic day, let us all gratefully recall the sacrifices of millions of freedom fighters and unsung martyrs of an earlier generation who suffered and labored so that we are free and sovereign today.
