West Bengal Gets 7 New Districts Kolkata: In its bid to simplify administrative operations, the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government has decided to carve out seven new districts in the state. With this, the total number of districts in West Bengal has now gone up to 30. “Earlier there were 23 districts in Bengal now it has been increased to 30.
