2022 Assembly, Lok Sabha bypoll results

The Election Commission declared results for seven Assembly constituencies and three Lok Sabha seats on June 26, 2022. BJP won two out three Lok Sabha seats, and one going to SAD (Amritsar). Of the seven Assembly seats, BJP won three, Congress two and one seat each went to AAP and YSRCP. The Bharatiya Janata Party won the Town Bardowali, Jubarajnagar and Surma Assembly seats from Tripura, as well as Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur and Azamgarh parliamentary seat. The party lost to YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh’s Atmakur Assembly constituency where Mekapati Vikram Reddy was declared winner. AAP conceded defeat in Punjab’s Sangrur Lok Sabha bypoll, congratulating SAD (Amritsar)‘s Simranjit Singh Mann on his victory. Durgesh Pathak, won the Rajinder Nagar Assembly bypoll for the party in Delhi. Sudip Roy Barman of Congress won the Agartala constituency seat, giving the party its sole member in the Tripura Assembly. According to officials, the party also won the Mandar Assembly seat in Jharkhand. Lok Sabha bypolls were held in Rampur and Azamgarh constituencies in Uttar Pradesh and Sangrur seat in Punjab. Assembly bypolls were held were Rajinder Nagar in Delhi, Mandar in Jharkhand’s Ranchi district, Atmakuru in Andhra Pradesh, and four constituencies in Tripura including Town Bardowali, from where the CM contested. UP Bypolls: BJP Wins Azamgarh & Rampur Lok Sabha Seats, Both Samajwadi Party Strongholds

The CM tweeted, "The historic victory in the by-election in Azamgarh Sadar Lok Sabha seat is the result of the welfare policies of the 'Double Engine BJP Government' under the leadership of the respected prime minister. This victory is dedicated to all the hardworking workers of BJP. Thanks, people of Azamgarh!" When asked about the absence of Akhilesh Yadav, the SP candidate from Azamgarh, Dharmendra Yadav, told NDTV, "No, it does not matter. He was checking on my campaign all the time". Earlier during the counting, Yadav got involved in an argument with the security personnel allegedly over being denied access to the strongroom. He also alleged tampering with the electronic voting machines (EVMs).
