Central Teacher Eligibility Test

INTRODUCTION In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and 29th JULY, 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in Clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE. The Ministry of Education, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi. Introduction The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), which is now known as the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India (GOI) has established the National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent, autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organisation for conducting efficient, transparent and international standard tests in order to assess the competency of candidates for admission to premier higher education institutions. NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [ NEET (UG) – 2023] will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) on Sunday, 07 May 2023 (Sunday) in Pen and Paper mode in 13 languages, as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registration for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET UG 2022 from today, 6 April. Those interested and eligible can apply till 6 May, 2022 by visiting the official website at neet.nta.nic.in. NEET, the only examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses in the country, will be held on 17 July. As per the notice, the paper will be of 3 hours and 20 minutes duration, consisting of 200 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). 50 questions from each subject will be divided into Section A and B. The examination will be held in 13 languages including English, Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, Assamese, Gujarati, Odia, Punjabi, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, and Telugu.
