A decade ago, Hero MotoCorp launched the Impulse in the Indian market. It was not very successful, many people would say that it was ahead of its time. Then the Hero XPulse 200 was launched in 2019 and the motorcycle did quite well. However, after the lockdown, the sales started picking up because people started exploring trails and the XPulse 200 became a motorcycle that they would use on weekends. 2023 Hero XPulse 200 4V: Pro variant The biggest update that the XPulse gets is the introduction of the Pro variant. It is a more hard-core version of the Standard variant. Xpulse 200 4V Pro comes with fully adjustable front and rear suspension which has a travel of 250 mm and 220 mm respectively. Because of the new suspension setup, the ground clearance has gone up to 270 mm and the seat height is increased to 850 mm. 2023 Hero Xpulse 200 4V: What’s New

Updated Bodywork While the overall styling of the Xpulse 200 4V has remained largely unchanged, it now features a new LED headlight. Hero says that this unit is a Class-D LED headlight with a 230 per cent improvement in illumination. It’s topped by a 60mm taller Rally-style windshield in a bid to offer better wind protection over the previous unit. For added protection and practicality, the Xpulse 200 4V now comes with closed-loop handlebar guards as well as a new luggage plate at the rear. Tweaked Stance Considering the previous model’s setup, when ridden standing on the footpegs, Hero has lowered the rider footpegs by 35mm and pushed it towards the rear by 8mm. This change has directly reciprocated in the stance as you now get more surface to grip the bike by your legs and reduce the load on the wrists. Greener Motor Though the 2023 Xpulse 200 4V’s motor is the same as before – 200cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, four-valve engine design churning out 18.8bhp at 8,000rpm and 17.35Nm at 6,500rpm – it now comes with an OBD2 sensor. The onboard diagnostics helps the bike monitor real-time emissions instead of relying solely on the lab-tested emission data as before. Apart from that, the bike can now only run on a 20 per cent ethanol blend fuel. Then, it continues to be linked to a five-speed gearbox.
