'18 Pages' hit the screens on December 23. In this section, we are going to review the latest box-office release. Story: In 2019, Nandini (Anupama Parameswaran) was in Hyderabad to meet one Venkat Rao at the behest of her grandfather. She apparently holds some important documents that are wanted by some evil men. In 2021, Siddhu (Nikhil Siddhartha) comes across Nandini's diary and starts learning about her past, one page at a time. He is captivated thinking about her artless personality. He makes lifestyle changes in tune with Nandini's beliefs. One sad day, Siddhu gets the biggest jolt of his life when he suspects that Nandini might be dead. Analysis: Nikhil was on record stating that many male actors wouldn't be inclined to accept a story like this one. The film came across as a feel-good love story in the beginning. When its trailer was out, the narrative changed. It looked like an unpredictable thriller with an anticipated climax. But don't be sanguine about the film's thrills. Its investigative portions (Siddhu turns into a self-styled detective, trying to trace Nandini all by himself) are riddled with lazy ideas. A post box here, an accidental bumping into some character there... The film, thankfully, is not about the thrills. It's about the surreal connection that Siddhu feels with a woman he has never met in life. Had his family not been a dysfunctional one, we would probably have not felt for him and his loneliness. Writer Sukumar's characterization is laced with ...

Siddu a.k.a Siddharth, a software employee, is head over heels in love with Preethi, but their relationship falls apart when the latter cheats on him. While lamenting over his past, he comes across a diary of a girl named Nandini in the middle of a road. With every page in the book, Siddu becomes more obsessed with Nandini and his outlook towards life drastically changes by the day. There’s a twist in the tale when Siddu tries to trace Nandini’s wherabouts. Will Siddu and Nandini ever get to meet each other? There’s something very comforting about old-world romances in times where most love stories are skin-deep and often come with the vibe of a manufactured product. 18 Pages, as the title suggests, revolves around the diary of a girl and how a man falls for her thoughts, child-like approach to life. Right after a breakup, Nandini brings hope to Siddu’s life. He’s in pursuit of her, not for her looks but for her personality. 18 Pages as a romance is more idealistic and less pragmatic, although you root for the characters because of their honesty. While the premise Pages feels like a fond throwback to the 80s/90s era romance, the execution is all over the place. The director Palnati Surya Pratap is desperate to squeeze drama out of Nandini’s diary entries and Siddu’s hysterical responses and the film struggles to build any sort of momentum. Nandini’s story is narrated in brief episodes through Siddu’s eyes and it’s not an ideal scenario when a director sets up an entire hal...

18 Pages movie review: Another fresh attempt by Nikhil

Movie: 18 Pages Rating: 2.75/5 Cast: Nikhil, Anupama Parameswaran, Brahmaji, Posani Krishna Murali Director: Palanati Surya Pratap Produced By: GA2 Pictures and Sukumar Writings Release Date: 23rd December 2022 Nikhil’s 18 Pages is the second release of the week and like other movies from the young hero, this film also has a novel concept and fresh take. The film sees a return of the blockbuster pairing of Nikhil and Anupama Parameswaran and has so far managed to create a positive buzz with good music and an Story: Nikhil (Siddhu) believes more in rationality and technology than emotions. His outlook on life is challenged when he comes across Nandini’s (Anupama Parameswaran) diary. How does he process this new information and what impact it has on his life? What happens to the relationship between Siddhu and Nandini is what the movie follows. See also Gurthunda Seethakalam movie review: An unimpressive mocktail Performances: Nikhil has done these roles in the past and predictably looks natural and convincing as Siddhu. His characterization and performance have no issues at all but still, you will find yourself asking for more. More edge to the character with better execution from the director’s end in terms of character depth would have helped Nikhil even more. Anupama Parameswaran has a steady character flow and is efficient in her role. But, again just like Nikhil, the lack of memorable moments and intriguing characterization makes the overall role asking for more. Analy...

18 Pages Movie Review:

Nikhil Siddhartha, who was last seen in the adventure thriller Karthikeya 2, is now back with a romantic comedy titled 18 Pages. Incidentally, he is paired opposite Anupama Parameswaran in this film as well. Directed by one of the wards of director Sukumar Bandreddi, 18 Pages has story from Sukumar Writings, Sukuamr's production house. Nikhil rose to nationwide fame with Karthikeya 2 and the movie is a Rs 100 Crore venture. Immediately after, the film 18 Pages hit the screens after several postponements. Siddu (Nikhil Siddhartha) is an app developer in a start-up. He is friends with Bhagi (Sarayu) who is very doting. Following a break-up, Siddhu drinks his way out as he loses focus. He stumbles upon a diary of Nandini (Anupama Parameswaran). He gets entangled and smitten by her way of life and struggles to cope when he finds out that she died in a pre-planned car accident. What happened to Nandini? How did Siddhu find out about her flashback? Who is Dr. Sandeep B and why Nandini loved him? is to be seen on the big screen. Technical Aspects: Nikhil Siddhartha as usual is easy and comfortable in the character. He did his best for it and Anupama too looks very convincing as the character that resists technology. Simply put, she is an old-school soul who doesn't use a mobile phone, has no social networking presence, and is a woman with a kind heart. Nandini comes to Hyderabad to deliver an unopened letter to a person named Venkatrao as per her grandfather's dying wish. She the...
