KKR IPL 2023 retention: Kolkata Knight Riders full list of retained players, released players, purse remaining for auction

The Kolkata Knight Riders has released 16 players ahead of the IPL 2023 auction. The Shreyas Iyer-led team has been the most active side during the trade window, having roped in Shardul Thakur (from Delhi Capitals), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (from Gujarat Titans) and Lockie Ferguson (from Gujarat Titans). It has also traded Aman Khan to DC. IPL 2023 Retention: Full list of players retained, released and traded for all teams; auction purse remaining of all franchises In addition to the purse remaining from the previous auction and the value of the players each side has released, the teams have an additional Rs 5 crore to spend in the upcoming auction — to be held in Kochi on December 23 — taking the overall purse tally to Rs 95 crore. KKR has Rs 7.05 crore to spend and three overseas slots to fill. Come the auction, KKR will have to lend some thought to the top-order with Aaron Finch, Alex Hales and Ajinkya Rahane missing. The middle-order, however, looks well set.

19.6 toF du Plessis, he's holed out to long-on! Won't get the orange cap but what a knock he's played. Absolutely incredible. Narine strikes immediately after the break. Gaikwad came down the pitch early, and looked to loft that full delivery outside off. But the bat face seemed to have opened last moment as Narine seemed to have bowled the knuckle ball, and the ball landed right where the man was placed. 61/1 13.3 toRV Uthappa, big appeal for lbw and given by umpire Nitin Menon! Uthappa was looking to play a reverse sweep. He reviews. I think it'll come back as umpire's call. There's absolutely no bat involved, so all we need to see if where the impact was. And ball tracking confirms this was marginally within the stumps. And so Uthappa will have to go. Iyer, who bats in the top order and bowls handy medium pace for Madhya Pradesh in the domestic circuit, started like most kids in India - playing for fun. "Honestly, I started playing when my mother would often nudge me to get outdoors and burn energy rather than being cooped up indoors with books all the time," he laughs. And then life happened, and academics would soon take over. Cricket wouldn't make an appearance until he was nearly 19. "I decided to give up my CA and pursue an MBA in finance," Iyer says. "I gave a lot of entrance exams, had decent scores, and enrolled into a good college. I was fortunate the faculty liked cricket, and they saw I was doing well, and gave me the cushion by taking care of my attendance, preparing notes and rescheduling exams. "Honestly, I didn't have to put in a lot of effort to manage both. I'm not bragging, I've always been a bright student, I can't say the same about my cricket. That is the kind of confidence I have in my academics. Had there been no cricket, I would have landed in an IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) or IIM (Indian Institute of Management). "If it came down to training or classes, I'd often choose training, because my grasping power was good. But if I went to college for just two hours, I'd ensure my focus would completely be on those two lectures. They anyway gave me the cushion of lower attendance. That helped me pursue an internship too. "I knew I wasn't going to take up the offer," he says. "I would've had to ...

How can KKR qualify for IPL 2023 playoffs? Scenarios and points for Kolkata Knight Riders explained

When it was announced that Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan will be the owner of a Kolkata-based team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), a lot of fans - both from Kolkata and outside it - had huge expectations from this franchise. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) did make their fans' dream of winning an IPL trophy true not just once, but twice, becoming the only other team apart from Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to win multiple IPLs. Although they went all the way in 2012 and 2014, and have had a few appearances in the IPL playoffs, KKR's wait for their third IPL title seems eternally elusive. This year, they have collected 10 points from 12 games and sit in sixth position, tied on points with three other teams. They played against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Thursday, who jumped to 12 points. With that in mind, let's take a look at how the Knight Riders can qualify for the playoffs. MORE: Will Kolkata Knight Riders make it to the IPL 2023 playoffs? Kolkata Knight Riders' fate doesn't rest in their own hands following their loss to Rajasthan Royals to make it to the playoffs with two games to go. • Scenario 1:If KKR win two games, they will end the league phase with 14 points. Then, KKR should hope RR and LSG lose at least one out of their two remaining games to end with more points, hope for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB),Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Sunrisers Hyderabadto lose at least two games in order to finish fourth (of course, with a better NRR).Moreov...

KKR vs RCB IPL 2023 result as Royal Challengers crumble to big defeat against Knight Riders

Royal Challengers Bangalore capitulated at Eden Gardens as Kolkata Knight Riders won by 81 runs to pick up their first win of the 2023 Indian Premier League. Shardul Thakur scored 68 off 29 balls before spinners Varun Chakravarthy, Suyash Sharma, and Sunil Narine combined for nine wickets. RCB were off to a great start as David Willey took two wickets in the powerplay and went on to finish with figures of 2/16 from his four overs. Karn Sharma also took two wickets in as many balls to reduce KKR to 89/5, with opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz scoring 57 of those runs. The tables then turned as Rinku Singh and Thakur put on a partnership of 103 to put RCB on the back foot. Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Akash Deep, and Doug Bracewell all conceded over 30 runs in the innings as KKR set a target of 205 to win. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis both got to 20 runs before the capitulation started. Narine and Chakravarthy took five wickets in the space of five overs before debutant Suyash ripped through the RCB middle order. The youngster finished on three wickets while Thakur was the only seamer to contribute to the wicket column. RCB will need to reflect on a loss that sums up the history of the franchise. They drop to seventh in the points table due to a huge drop in net run rate. KKR move up to fourth as new skipper Nitish Rana will hope to start a winning run after this result.
