KTM RC 390 Announced for 2022

The 2022 KTM RC 390 has been thoroughly updated with a lighter chassis, advanced electronics, new bodywork and instrumentation, and more. New inner and out panel placements are designed to optimize wind and weather protection, and enhanced heat management by directing airflow away from the rider. The rear section has been reduced as much as possible for a more aggressive profile and reveals more of the redesigned steel trellis subframe. KTM has paid special attention to improving ergonomics to enhance comfort without compromising on-track performance. The knee area was designed to be as narrow as possible with the largest possible contact area, allowing for fluid rider movement. Advertisement An all-new two-part cockpit and windscreen holder makes use of a cast aluminum upper area and a lower composite part that secures the headlight, while a larger 3.6-gallon fuel tank has been added for improved range. The new bodywork is easily removable, with a reduced number of attaching screws and a redesigned mounting system, which makes swapping out the street-legal bodywork for race-ready panels more practical. The 2022 KTM RC 390 was developed with a focus on weight savings, particularly throughout the chassis. An all-new wheel design sheds 7.5 pounds of unsprung weight versus the previous model, while the new ByBre braking system saves another 2.1 pounds and the 3.3-pounds-lighter frame promises extremely agile handling. The suspension has also been updated with an adjustable op...

2022 KTM RC 390 Old Vs New Changes Explained In Photos

Login Now It’s been eight years since its inception that the KTM RC 390 has received its first major update. In fact, this is KTM ’s biggest update in history on a single cylinder motorcycle in India. While we wait for our first ride review to go live, here’s all that’s new on the 2022 iteration of the Austrian supersport, compared side-to-side with its predecessor. A big difference between the two bikes is the new TFT instrument console found on the new RC 390. Similar to the TFT display on the 390 Duke, this console gets bluetooth connectivity to offer phone call and music control, however it misses out on navigation. It also comes equipped with ABS modes, Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), cornering ABS and a quickshifter as standard. The bike also gets a new switch cube, carried over from the 390 Adventure and 390 Duke, which help control the various functions within the TFT display. Also, the clip-on bars are now height adjustable, and can be lowered by 10mm. The 2022 RC 390 is now priced at Rs 3,13,922, ex-showroom Delhi, and takes on the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and TVS Apache RR 310 . It is priced Rs 36,287 higher than the older bike.

KTM RC390 And RC200 Old vs New Comparison

The new RC range that was showcased at EICMA received minor cosmetic updates, but the overall design stays very close to the current generation motorcycle. The most noticeable and the biggest change is the new side mounted exhaust, that replaces the under belly one to keep up with recent emission norms. Features The current generation KTM RC200 and the 390 feature upside down front forks, monoshock at the rear, disc brakes at both ends, digital instrument console, projector headlamps with daytime running lights, and clip on handlebars. The RC390 comes with a slipper clutch and standard ABS that can be switched off, which the RC200 missed out on. The upgraded model of the KTM RC models feature all the above mentioned features and the RC could get lighter front forks like the Duke. Additional features now include a larger front brake rotor that measures 320mm (old one was 300mm), adjustable brake and clutch levers, redesigned seat, and new colour options. Pricing The pricing, along with the powerful engines is what makes KTM worth every penny shelled out. The KTM RC200 and the 390 are currently priced approximately at Rs 1.87 lakh and Rs 2.37 lakh on-road (Delhi) respectively. The new RC200 and 390 can be priced a little higher, but with ‘affordability' in mind.
