Raksha Bandhan 2022: UP CM Yogi Announces Free Bus Rides For Women For 48 Hrs

New Delhi: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, on Friday, announced that women in the state will be able to travel for free in buses for 48 hours. He said that this was his gift to the females in the state on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. “On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, the Uttar Pradesh State Transport Corporation should provide free travel facility in buses for the safe travel of all the women of the state,” tweeted the office of CM Yogi in Hindi. The unique move became even more special when the chief minister added that women will be able to travel free for 48 hours – from August 10 midnight till August 12 midnight. It will mark the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava’, and the free bus travel facility will be available to women across the state for a period of 48 hours. ‘Uphold the dignity of women’ Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday urged everyone to uphold the dignity of women and ensure a safe environment for them at all times.
