Stephen Sanchez drops a charismatic pop tune, entitled, 'Until I Found You'

Stephen Sanchez – “Until I Found You” single “When I met my girlfriend, Georgia, I was in the worst place ever. She was so loving and great to me though. I didn’t feel good enough for that, so I pushed her away. We spent some time apart. She was in Virginia. I was in California. A month before I moved to Nashville, we reconnected over the phone. I drove up, took her on a date, and we’ve been together ever since. I wrote ‘Until I found You’ to let her know how much I love her. And to let her know I knew how much of an idiot I was when I let her go the first time.” – Stephen Sanchez explained ‘Until I Found You’ blends blissful doo-wop melodies with breezy guitar and delicate tambourine. With enough sweet summer soul to make Roy Orbison smile, the momentum builds towards a swooning refrain as Stephen Sanchez admits, “I used to say I would never fall in love until I found her.” Furthermore, “Until I Found You” arrives on the heels of Sanchez’s previously released single, “Kayla,” a paean to unrequited love. Stephen Sanchez – “Kayla” “Two years ago, I had a massive crush on a girl named Kayla. She didn’t like me back, but I was determined to win her over. I wrote her this song, recorded it on GarageBand, sent it to her, but we weren’t destined to be together. Kayla was part of my life over the past year though, so the song had a place in this body of work.” – Stephen Sanchez explained Stephen Sanchez “I’m just a guy who sits in his bedroom and writes devastatingly heartbreakin...

Las Vegas aliens in backyard report, UFO investigated by police

Scott L. Hall, USA TODAY Las Vegas police officers investigated reports of two unknown entities falling from the sky on the same night in late April that a family reported something 'not human' in their backyard. One officer drove to a home on the night of April 30 and interviewed the family who called 911 after making the sighting, according to body camera footage obtained by USA TODAY. One of the family members told the officer they saw “a big creature” that was “long, 10 feet tall.” The officer told the family he was looking into the claims because another officer saw something in the sky that matched the family’s description eight minutes earlier. “I’m not going to BS, you guys. One of my partners said they saw something fall out of the sky, too, so that’s why I’m kind of curious,” the officer said. “It’s weird just the fact that our partner saw something at the exact time." Aliens among us? USA TODAY has reached out to the LVMPD for comment. A nearby resident called 911 to report something “100% not human” on their property, local TV station About 40 minutes later, another man called 911 to report two unknown entities in his backyard after he and his family saw a similar object fall from of the sky, according to 8 News Now. “There’s like an 8-foot person beside it and another one is inside us and it has big eyes and it’s looking at us and it’s still there,” the man said, according to the police dispatch audio posted by the TV channel. “In my backyard. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that counteroffensive actions were under way against invading Russian forces in his country but declined to divulge additional details. The Ukrainian leader made the comment on Saturday at a news conference in Kyiv, while standing alongside visiting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. He was responding to a question about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statement a day earlier that Zelenskyy said that “counteroffensive, defensive actions are taking place in Ukraine. I will not speak about which stage or phase they are in.” “I am in touch with our commanders of different directions every day,” he added, citing the names of five of Ukraine’s top military leaders. “Everyone is positive. Pass this on to Putin.” Top Ukrainian authorities have stopped short of announcing a full-blown counteroffensive was under way, though some Western analysts have said In his nightly video address, Zelenskyy provided few details while urging troops to keep fighting. “Thank you to all those who hold their positions and those who advance,” he said, citing the eastern and southern fronts, where fighting is heaviest. Ukraine’s general staff said its forces had Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar made it plain on Telegram that the military would issue no statements until battlefield positions became clear. “Ask yourself this… am I prepared to receive information about the liberation of this or that town not when our troops enter it, but once t...

Watch the 1950s

Stephen Sanchez keeps it classic in the video for “Until I Found You,” shared exclusively with Rolling Stone. In the fun, throwback visual, Sanchez rocks an “I was obsessed with the style of the 50s when I was growing up. The glamorous cars, movie theaters, mom & pop shops,” he tells Rolling Stone. “I romanticized all of its visually stunning colors and sleekness. I wanted to implement all of that beauty into my dream of being a 1950s singer debuting his ‘hit’ song on the Ed Sullivan Show.” The visual sees Sanchez singing the classic track inside a convertible while a Monroe-looking songstress sits on the back of the car before switching scenes on the TV set, just like the music-makers of yesteryear would on live TV. The video then sees him shredding the guitar and serving his best Elvis-inspired dance moves before a dream-like movie scene. For Sanchez, the visual is a “dream come true” video for an unexpected hit for the 19-year-old crooner, whose viral ballad has become a TikTok staple. (The track boasts over 382,000 videos on TikTok, mostly of loving couples sharing clips of their relationship or pairs on their wedding day.) “I wrote this song in my bedroom for a girl I loved,” he says of the track inspired by the love songs he grew up listening to with his grandfather. “That’s all it was and all I ever needed it to be, but now it’s the soundtrack for so many love stories.” Since dropping the song, he’s released several versions of the track, including a remix with Em B...

"Until I Found You" by Stephen Sanchez

For starters, “Until I Found You” is based on Stephen Sanchez’s real life, as implied when he identifies one “Georgia” as the addressee in the very-first line. As Stephen has described this piece, it is inspired by an earlier era in which things weren’t going well for him at all. Then in came the addressee, the one bright spot in the equation. But being who he was at the time, Sanchez Afterwards, they did not deal with each other for a spell. But then, when the pair finally did reconnect, it was as if they had never broken up to begin with. And some of those sentiments do successfully come through in this lyrically-terse piece. Or rather, the way they are organized isn’t necessarily in a linear fashion. For instance in the first verse, Stephen is telling Georgia that ‘he’ll never let her go again, like he did’, thus revealing that he has already messed up with her in the past. But then, the chorus that follows obviously harps back to the beginning of the relationship, i.e. when he first “found her” and him remembering how doing so mitigated his depression. The second verse then solidifies the notion that this is a relationship that has been rekindled, after the vocalist basically dumped the addressee the first time around. So it’s as if the verses are in the present but the chorus the past, in a manner of speaking. Or another way the latter can be potentially interpreted is, after having lost Georgia and regaining her hand, now Stephen truly appreciates her more than ever....

Growing up listening to ’50s and ’60s records on vinyl in Northern California, he has always been drawn to an old-school charm within his own music. The inspiration ultimately led to his breakthrough hit, “Until I Found You,” which became his first Billboard Penned in May 2021, just six months after moving to Nashville, Sanchez felt there was something special about the heartfelt song straight away — and another six months after its release that September, it debuted on the all-genre songs chart at No. 100. Since, it has spent 23 weeks on the list, reaching a No. 38 high this October, and continues to climb elsewhere, hitting a new No. 3 peak on Billboard‘s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart dated Dec. 17. Despite being more than a year old at this point, the timeless-sounding pop hit has experienced one resurgence after the next, be it through an Easy On My Eyes; in November, “Missing You,” with...
