The Henry Lever Action is a classic Western-style lever action rifle, and one of the most popular The Henry Lever Action rifle features an extremely attractive American walnut stock, the quality of which can only be found on guns three times the price. The action is exceptionally smooth, so smooth many first timers remark that they cannot believe the rifle has any internal parts. You simply have to get one into your own two hands and cycle the action a few times to see for yourself. The Henry Lever Action also features side ejection, an adjustable rear sight, a hooded front sight and a 3/8″ grooved receiver for mounting a scope. The blued steel barrel is machined with state of the art multiple groove rifling. The result is a highly accurate The barrel length is 18 ½”, overall length is 36 ½” and it weighs in at a very comfortable 5¼ pounds. The easy to load tubular magazine can handle 15 rounds of .22 Long Rifle, 17 rounds of .22 Long and as many as 21 rounds of .22 Short, making it a viable alternative to a semi-automatic .22. And, a lot more fun to shoot. First I would like to thank you for all the swag that henry has sent for our event June 2. Secondly I would like to tell you about one of our newest customers. Noah is 12 years old and worked the last year mowing lawns, helping around the house and whatever he could do to earn a buck. After saving the year he came to my store to purchase his first 22LR, after looking at all the guns I had available, approx 6, he settled...

At the time, “Gunsmoke,” “Bonanza,” “The Rifleman,” and dozens of Western films were celebrating horses, lever-actions, and revolvers. Every farm kid had a “Magnum” is the perfect name for this cartridge because it does for the .22 rimfire what the .30-378 Weatherby Magnum did for the .22 Rimfire History The first rimfire was the Flobert BB Cap, essentially a muzzleloader cap (primer) with a BB (Bullet Breech) stuck atop it. Smith & Wesson expanded on the idea by lengthening the cap, adding about 4 grains of fine black powder and a 29-grain conical bullet to make the .22 Short. A slightly longer version in 1871 was the .22 Long. In 1887 Stevens Arm Co. raised the Long’s powder level to 5 grains, popped on a 40-grain round nose, and created the most popular rimfire cartridge in history, the .22 LR. But most popular is not the same as most powerful. By the 1930s, high velocity .22 LR cartridges using smokeless powder were spitting 40-grain bullets about 1,250 fps. Winchester’s This chart shows the drop, drift, and energy on a 3-inch target for various loads of .22 LR and .22 WMR in a 10 mph crosswind from 50 to 150 yards. .22 Rimfire Cartridges

For good deals on cheap 22lr ammo go to The .22 Short, .22 Long and .22 Long Rifle By Chuck Hawks Illustration courtesy of CCI. All .22 rimfires (except the WRF and WMR) are ancient black powder designs and use tapered heel bullets. If you examine a .22 S, L, or LR cartridge, you will see that the case and bullet are the same diameter. The part of the bullet inside of the case (the heel) is reduced in diameter to allow it to fit inside of the case. In all other modern cartridges the bullet shank is of constant diameter and the case is slightly larger than the bullet to allow the heel of the latter to fit inside. The modern design gives the bullet a longer bearing surface and forms a better gas seal on its trip down the barrel. The rimfire principle was used to create the first successful self-contained metallic ammunition. Rimfire cases are constructed with the priming compound spun inside the rim of the case, which is crushed by the blow of the firing pin to ignite the main powder charge. This means that the rim of the case must be far weaker than the solid rim of later centerfire cartridges and is the primary factor limiting the pressure to which any rimfire cartridge can be loaded without erratic ignition or blown cases. As a practical matter, rimfire cases are not reloadable. The standard .22 rimfire cartridges are the .22 BB, .22 CB, .22 Short, .22 Long and .22 Long Rifle (LR). Although the cases differ in length, all can be fired in a LR chamber. Rifles and pistols f...
