Chaitra Navratri is one of the two most famous festivals dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is celebrated in the Hindu month of Chaitra and falls in March/April as per the Gregorian calendar. Interestingly, the nine-day-long festival is celebrated during the onset or change of seasons. So, for example, Chaitra Navratri is observed during a seasonal transition from spring to summer. Therefore, it is also known as Vasanta Navratri. Moreover, on the fourth day (Chaturthi Tithi), devotees pay tributes to the Kushmanda avatar of Devi Durga.
