MUMBAI: The Bombay high court dismissed a PIL challenging the 75 per cent board marks as eligibility criteria for admissions to the premier Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), NIIT, other institutes, apart from their JEE rankings. NEW DELHI: For the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2023, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has relaxed the 75 percent eligibility criteria. According to an official notification, students who have scored 75% marks or are in the top 20 percentile in Class 12 of any education board will be eligible to seek admission to the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and to appear for JEE Advanced 2023. Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates will require 65% marks. The decision comes after several students demanded relaxation of 75% eligibility criteria.
