13 जून 2023 मुंबई की कोर्ट ने मंगलवार को बेस्ट बेकरी मामले में दोनों आरोपरियों हर्षद रावजी भाई सोलंकी और मफत मणिलाल गोहिल को बरी कर दिया. वे पिछले 10 साल से जेल में कैद हैं. यह मामला 21 साल पुराना है, जिसमें 14 लोगों की मौत हो गई थी. वडोदरा की अदालत ने 2003 में सभी को बरी कर दिया था. इसके बाद 2004 में SC ने पुनर्विचार याचिका पर सुनवाई करते हुए केस महाराष्ट्र ट्रांसफर कर दिया था. 04 जून 2023 सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने इलाहाबाद हाई कोर्ट के एक आदेश पर रोक लगा दी. हाई कोर्ट ने लखनऊ विश्वविद्यालय को एक रेप पीड़िता की कुंडली मिलान का आदेश दिया था. दरअसल रेप के आरोपी इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय के प्रोफसर ने पीड़िता से इस आधार पर शादी करने से इनकार कर दिया था कि वह मांगलिक है. इस केस की सुनवाई के दौरान हाई कोर्ट ने यह आदेश दे दिया था.
