Like Rahul Jaykar (Aditya) discovers; once basking in a ‘ rockstar’ like status, but soon losing it to alcohol, addiction and self-deprecation. But when he meets budding singer Aarohi (Shraddha), his heart finds a new beat and his crumbling life finds a cause. He trains her to become the Nightingale of India; she shines while he stays her shadow; sometimes sober, mostly stoned. The real lyric of this story is their romance, pulsating with passion and intensity – on high notes and ‘higher spirits’. movie Suri’s musical love story doesn’t bear much semblance to the original ‘Aashiqui’; instead it finds its own rhythm. User Reviews for Aashiqui 2 Disappointing The only decent track in the album is from a guy we have never heard before - Ankit Tiwari's Sun Raha Hai. The album is a homogenous blob of sounds - except Sun Raha Hai, they all seem the same. Disappointed, specially because I was expecting so much from Mithoon. Album• Vishesh Films and T-Series followed the hugely successful "Aashiqui" (1990) with this film as a spiritual successor. The plot of this film was independent of its predecessor. It was adapted from the American musical drama "A Star Is Born" (1976). "A Star Is Born" (1976) itself was one of a series of films with the same title and premise. The first film of this series was released in 1937 and was followed by adaptations in 1954, 1976, and 2018.[ • The film and its music were very successful despite the relatively new artists involved. It was Aditya Roy Kapur's first film in a lead role and Shraddha Kapoor's breakthrough role. Singer Arijit Singh and singer and composer Ankit Tiwari had debuted before but shot to fame as a result of the popularity of the film's music. Both of them won several awards for their work in this film. • This was the second time that Filmfare gave the Best Music Director award for a film that involved more than one music director.
