Adam Rossington sheds light on Karachi Kings' loss to Islamabad United

Rossington reveals reason behind Kings defeat against United “And then, a few early wickets got us into the game, I think it was just that middle period in which we couldn’t take wickets, that’s where the game got away from us and those two lads [Azam Khan and Faheem Ashraf] played really well and didn’t really give us a chance,” he maintained. Rossington then went on to term Kings’ total a roundabout par after a slow start before asserting that the ordinary bowling cost them a crucial match. “I think it was probably roundabout par from where we were especially, we lost early wickets and still took it to 202. Obviously, our captain played brilliantly again today to get us to what was probably a par score or maybe we could have added 10 more,” said Rossington. “I think we’ve been pretty good on the whole with the bat so far, it’s just with the ball, other day we were a bit expensive at the death and today it was the middle period, not taking wickets. I think it’s one of the things that if you can take wickets and get new batters coming at the crease, it’s always easier to slow down the score,” he concluded. It is worth mentioning that the Kings remained at the fifth position with four points in eight matches in the PSL 8 standings with a narrow six-wicket defeat against Islamabad United. Kings’ skipper Imad’s brilliant knock of 92 runs off just 54 balls went in vain as Azam Khan’s quickfire 72 sealed the deal for the United.

Adam Rossington joins Essex on loan after losing Northants captaincy

Northants said in a further statement on Monday morning that Rossington had "requested time away from the squad after a change in the club's leadership group", while confirming his move to Chelmsford for the 2022 season. "The cricket committee were happy to support this and maintained a conversation throughout, but unfortunately could not come to an agreement," the statement added. • Burns readjusts to life on England fringes after putting Ashes 'to bed' • Gough, Gibson look to the future after Yorkshire's winter of discontent • Root rested for opening rounds of Championship • Project Sussex requires signs of progress as Salisbury targets 'sustained success' • Northants bring in McManus with Rossington 'unavailable for selection' "Adam did a brilliant job as captain after taking over in difficult circumstances in 2019 and the cricket committee had Adam as a central part of our plans moving forward. Conversations around keeping him here had been ongoing since the end of last season so it's a shame he won't be with the squad as they take that place in Division One." Rossington arrived at Chelmsford on Monday morning ahead of Essex's pre-season media day and will be available for their Championship opener against Kent which starts on Thursday. With his Northants contract up at the end of the season, Essex will be favourites to sign him permanently if he impresses this season. "I'm delighted to bring someone of Adam's quality to the club ahead of the new season," Anthony McGra...

Rossington struck five sixes and four fours as he laid the foundations for victory by a team, known as the Orange Army, that scraped into the knockout phase on net run rate. Another star for Sunrisers was 38-year-old off-spinner Roelof van der Merwe, a former South Africa and Netherlands international, whose took four wickets. "I am absolutely ecstatic after this triumph," Van der Merwe told reporters. "It was an unbelievable game for us. We got progressively better in this tournament."
