The sage poet Adi Shankaracharya’s birth anniversary is tomorrow. Shankaracharya is said to have mastered the Vedas by the tender age of 8 and he travelled the country between the ages of 16 and 32 and took samadhi in the Himalayas. He is said to be responsible for rescuing Sanatan Dharma from the clutches of rituals.Find out more about Jagatguru Adi Shankaracharya who made the Char Dham in the country. Adi Shankaracharya had become knowledgeable of all the Vedas at the age of 8. He traveled across India and established four peeths in all the four directions. Which are today known as Char Dham. Shankaracharya ji had established Govardhan Puri Math (Jagannath Puri), Shringeri Peeth (Rameshwaram), Sharda Math (Dwarika) and Jyotirmath (Badrinath Dham) to propagate Vedanta. Adi Shankaracharya had made special arrangements for the cultural and spiritual unity of India. He placed a Brahmin priest from South India in Badrinath Dham located in the Himalayas of North India and a priest from North India in the temple of South India. On the other hand, the priest of the West was kept in the temple of Eastern India and the Brahmin priest of Eastern India was kept in the temple of Western India. So that India can be spiritually and culturally strong in all four directions and bound in the form of unity. Adi Shankaracharya divided the Dashnami Sanyasi Akharas to protect the country.
