Aircraft Museum, Newtown Police Station, DJ Block(Newtown), Action Area I

It is okay place for kids to run about. There is just one aircraft, a TU 142M on display. Visitors can enter it and walk through it. The cockpit is roped off and cannot be entered. Note that the walkthrough can be done only once. The person at the entry stair would take the entry ticket from you and retain it when you go in. So once you complete the walkthrough and exit the aircraft, you cannot go for a second walkthrough. Kids are allowed to go multiple times through the aircraft. (They ask only adults for entry tickets.) Also, taking photos is not allowed inside the aircraft. Other than the aircraft, they have some playground equipment for kids, although older teens and young adults too were playing on them. There is a small tea/coffee shop where one can get some basic snacks, hot and cold drinks and icecream. On the whole, other than the aircraft, there is nothing for adults to do. So it is meant for kids. It also seems to be a useful meeting place for young couples as once visitors enter the grounds, they can stay as long as they want. Entry ticket cost Rs 30 per person and is free for kids if you show school ID card. Paid parking is available in a side lane near the entry gate. शिकायत करना उत्तर Good addition into the list of places to visit in Newtown. The naval aircraft museum offers a great opportunity for common people to get an insight of what's there in a military aircraft. The area is developed nicely with big lawns n parks for children to play. Missing informa...

A Look at the Flight 93 National Memorial in Pennsylvania

The first time I saw it, on a foggy autumn day several years after that fateful September that thrust it into history, the windswept field atop a hill in southwestern Pennsylvania into which Now, nearly 14 years since the day of the event, the small temporary memorial has given way to a majestic permanent monument to the last day of Flight 93. Construction is still ongoing, but the In Pennsylvania, you experience the profundity and power of the natural landscape of this slice of American heartland that became the scene of dreadful tragedy. You walk the flight path and imagine what might have been in the minds of those men and women as they performed the deed that almost certainly spared a third target in the sights of the hijackers. You stand before the wall separating visitors from the Sacred Ground where the plane struck earth and ponder the stunning last moments of those whose mortal remains lie in that cemetery of heroes. After the crash, most of the plane came to rest beneath the loose soil of this former mining site, and there was little else in this rural field left after the crash in the way of material to which a memorial narrative could be linked. The task of the Flight 93 National Memorial was to give form to such a narrative, and its various planned features, from the Tower of Voices to the Wall of Names that leads to the Sacred Ground, do so in a way that is at once historically informative and emotionally moving. I spent several years researching the memorial...
