June 16, 2023 Ajay Bhadoo: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Sunday (October 2) approved the appointment of Ajay Bhadoo as the Deputy Election Commissioner of the Election Commission of India. According to a press release issued by the Secretariat of the Appointed Committee of the Cabinet, “Ajay Bhadoo has been appointed as Deputy Election Commissioner (Deputy EC) of the Election Commission of India for a term of five years from the date of assumption of charge. Till 24/07/2024 or till further orders, whichever is earlier.” Earlier on 20 July 2019, Ajay Bhadoo (1999 batch) of Gujarat cadre Indian Administrative Service officer was appointed as Joint Secretary to the President. Bhadoo’s term was about to end with the tenure of former President Ram Nath Kovind, but he was given a 2-month extension. Bhadoo, a Gujarat batch IAS officer, has also served as the Vadodara Municipal Commissioner. He took over the post of Municipal Commissioner in July 2018. (Source: Ajay Bhadoo/Facebook) Vadodara Municipal Commissioner (VMC) Ajay Bhadoo has been deputed as the Joint Secretary to President Ram Nath Kovind at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, making way for a change of guard at the VMC. Bhadoo has been the municipal commissioner of Vadodara since July 2018 and is also the chairman of the Vadodara Urban Development Authority (VUDA). A 1999 batch IAS officer, Bhadoo began his civil services career as an Assistant Collector in Surat and then in Junagadh. Over the past 19 years in IAS, he has served in various capacities and held positions like Collector, Municipal Commissioner and also Secretary to the chief minister of Gujarat. He was conferred the Best Collector Award twice for outstanding performance in 2008 and 2010. Under his Good Governance Initiative Biometric Attendance system was introduced for government employees in 2003-04 during his stint as DDO in Bharuch district. Rajkot Municipal Corporation employees ends their four day strike in Rajkot

RAJKOT: The employees of On Saturday, RMC Commissioner Ajay Bhadoo met leaders of protesting employees and agreed to solve their demands like Avash Yojna, Medical help and promotions among other pending issues. More than 1000 employees of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC)’s central zone office went on flash strike on Tuesday over pending issues with RMC. According to sources, the various employees’ unions had earlier submitted their list of demands before municipal commissioner sometime back. The pending issues like promotions, pensions, housing facilities and medical facilities to employees are major issues. Later on, employees working at other RMC zonal offices also joined in the strike. During the strike, number of citizen had to return in various branches of RMC as employees’ were on strike at central zone office.Meanwhile, Rajkot city Mayor Janak Kotak had said that the strike is illegal. RMC sources say that RMC Commisioner Ajay Bhadoo had also ordered for salary cut of striking employees. IAS officer Ajay Bhadoo appointed as deputy election commissioner

Ajay Bhadoo has been appointed as the Deputy Election Commissioner of the Indian election commission, which is a significant development. On Sunday, the Cabinet’s Appointments Committee approved the senior bureaucrat’s candidacy. Bhadoo is a Gujarat-trained Indian Administrative Officer (IAS) from the 1999 batch. According to the government notification, he has been chosen to serve as the deputy election commissioner until July 24, 2024. A press release from the Secretariat of the Committee stated, ‘Appointment of Ajay Bhadoo, IAS (GJ: 1999), as Deputy Election Commissioner, Election Commission of India, from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, for an overall tenure of five years up to 24/07/2024 or until further orders, which is earlier.’ The update is a result of a senior-level bureaucratic stir that also saw the appointment of joint secretaries to the central government department. A government order resulted in the restructuring of up to 35 civil servents. The President’s Secretariat ended his two-month extension as Joint Secretary on September 25. In July 2020, he was chosen to serve as the former president Ram Nath Kovid’s joint secretary. Bhadoo previously held the position of Vadodara Municipal Commissioner in Gujarat.

New Delhi, Oct 2 (PTI) Senior bureaucrat Ajay Bhadoo has been appointed as the Deputy Election Commissioner as part of a senior level bureaucratic reshuffle effected on Sunday by the Centre. Bhadoo, a 1999 batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Gujarat cadre, has been appointed to the post up to July 24, 2024, a Personnel Ministry order said. As many as 35 civil servants from different services have been appointed as joint secretaries in the central government departments as part of the reshuffle. Akash Tripathi, a 1998 batch IAS officer of Madhya Pradesh cadre, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), MyGov, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology. Basant Garg, a 2005 batch IAS officer of Punjab cadre, has been named Additional CEO, National Health Authority under the Department of Health & Family Welfare. Lochan Sehra, a 2002 batch IAS officer of Gujarat cadre, will be joint secretary, Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), Ahmedabad for a tenure of five years, the order said.
