It is with great pleasure that we inform you of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT)’s decision to mark the birthday of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, which is scheduled for the 14th of April 2023 (Friday), as a closed holiday for all Central Government Offices and Industrial Establishments across India. The department has invoked the powers under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act of 1881 (26 of 1881) to issue this order. This announcement means that Central government employees will enjoy a long weekend from April 14th to 16th, 2023.
