Andhra Pradesh CM launches distribution of Vidya Kanuka kits

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the distribution of Jagananna Vidya Kanuka kits to 43,10,165 students of classes 1 to 10 in government and aided schools in Andhra Pradesh. The kits include bilingual textbooks, note and workbooks, uniforms, shoes, socks, a belt and a school bag. A dictionary is included in the kits for students of classes 6 to 10. The distribution of quality kits worth Rs. 2400 will help transform students into globally competitive products, says the CM. The government has spent Rs. 60,329 crore on education alone, implementing programmes like Amma Vodi and introducing CBSE syllabus and subject teacher concepts. Krosuru (Palnadu dist.) Andhra CM Jagan Reddy Reiterates Biannual Dearness Relief Hike Commitment For Pensioners

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday reaffirmed his commitment to hike pensions with biannual dearness reliefs (DRs) to all eligible retired employees under the new Guaranteed Pension Scheme (GPS). The Chief MInister reiterated this commitment to the leaders of various government employees' unions who visited his camp office on Tuesday. Reddy stated that retired employees would receive 50 per cent of their last month's basic salary as a pension, and the amount would be increased annually with two Dearness Reliefs (DRs). The GPS, which was approved by the Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on June 7, aims to implement biannual DRs similar to that done by the Central Government. Confimed! Jiiva to play Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy in YSR biopic Yatra 2

By Latha Srinivasan: Yatra by director Mahi Raghav was a biopic on former Andhra Pradesh CM YSR Reddy which was released in 2019. The film was a hit and now Yatra 2, the sequel, is in the works. Sources confirmed to IndiaToday.in that Tamil actor Jiiva had been signed on to play YSR Reddy's son, current AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. The script will be finalised in a week's time and the film will go on floors in August. "Jiiva has been signed on for the role of Jagan. In Yatra, Mammootty played the role of YSR, as everyone knows, and he will be seen in Yatra 2. However, the exact period of Jagan's life that would be shown in Yatra 2 is still being determined. This movie could take off from the demise of his father. So Mammootty will be seen in the sequel," sources stated. Ensure 24 Crore Man

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday directed officials to ensure that at least 24 crore man-days are offered in 2023 under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). He issued these guidelines during a review meeting with the district Collectors and Superintendents of Police on a bunch of schemes. "Out of these (24 crore man-days), 60 per cent or 14.4 crore man-days should be completed by June end. At least 75,000 man- days should be provided every day in each district," said the Chief Minister in a press note shared by the state government today. Only on achieving these numbers, Reddy said the southern state will fulfil the targets it has set, including offering a minimum of Rs 272 as daily wages. Further, the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure that drinking water, shelters and first aid kits are made available at the place of work where this scheme is implemented. He also said that the workers should not be made to work between 11 AM and 3 PM owing to the scorching summer conditions. On the preparedness for the kharif season, Reddy said water has been released for irrigation in nine districts under 19 major irrigation projects while the same will be done with the remaining 29 major irrigation projects between June 15 and July 20.
