Antony is facing multiple allegations of abuse and bodily harm (Getty) The woman filed a report at a police station in Sao Paulo on Monday, which contains accusations of assault, bodily injury and threating behaviour by Antony. The report details multiple allegations of violence against the woman, the first of which is said to have taken place at a nightclub in Sao Paulo in July 2022. The second incident is said to have occurred in January 2023 where the woman alleges that she was attacked by Antony and required surgery due to an injury she suffered. Antony was signed by Manchester United in an £85 million deal last September (PA) The woman claims she has had no contact with Antony since May 28 and has requested ‘urgent protective measures’ from Brazilian authorities. Antony: Manchester United's £80m man who grew up in Sao Paulo's 'Little Hell'

Despite training with the senior squad in the previous months, the young winger did not hesitate when the board came up with the idea of sending him back instead to the under-20 team for the Copa Sao Paulo, Brazil's premier youth competition. He would then announce himself to the footballing world, scoring four goals and providing six assists in the title-winning campaign. When he returned to the first team, Antony's reputation within the club was no longer the same. He was not just another talented graduate anymore. He was the real deal. "That was a turning point for him," former Sao Paulo executive director Alexandre Passaro tells BBC Sport. "Unlike other kids that refused to go back to the youth side and saw it as a demerit, he accepted it right away, even if it meant missing out on a trip that most of the players were looking forward to. "He has always been a very humble lad and didn't care about that, only about how he could improve his performances. He would shine that season and become the player that we all admire now. "Soon, Ajax were asking about him. They had offered €3m for him in 2018 and were willing to pay much more to take him to Amsterdam this time. We would end up selling him in the beginning of 2020, but making sure that we included a 20 per cent profit clause because we knew he would reach a high level." Passaro couldn't have been more right. Antony would hit the ground running for Ajax, contributing to 47 goals in all competitions and, after two season...

Antony: Is Manchester United forward starting to live up to £81m price tag?

The Manchester United winger scored one and assisted another as his side moved up to third in the Premier League table with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest. Antony joined United for an initial fee of 95m euros (£81.3m) in August, making him the fourth most expensive signing in Premier League history. So far, the Brazilian has scored eight goals and registered two assists in 35 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils this season. His strike against Forest ended a run of six games without a goal and he was hailed after the game for his "quality" which proved the difference between the sides. • Antony stars as Man Utd beat Forest • Latest Manchester United news, analysis and fan views • Get Man Utd news notifications • Listen to the latest The Devils' Advocate podcast "We said we wanted more goals and assists out of Antony and he produced," former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison told BBC Radio 5 Live after United's win. "I think he was the difference between the two teams." Antony broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute, stabbing home after Forest keeper Keylor Navas had kept out Anthony Martial. And he played through Diogo Dalot following a driving run, with the full-back slotting in United's second with 14 minutes remaining. "It's important he's getting the 1-0, not the 4-0. He needs to score more goals," ex-Chelsea forward Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink told Sky Sports after full-time. "He's got the quality to pick Dalot out [for the second goal]. He had a g...

Antony’s arrival signals audacious upheaval of Manchester United

W e probably need to talk about the money first. It’s the 13th most expensive transfer of all time, slotting in between Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid. It brings Manchester United’s spending this window to about £200m plus potential add‑ons, and together with the signings of Tyrell Malacia and Lisandro Martínez means United are responsible for about 48% of the Eredivisie’s entire summer transfer income. “God decides my future,” Antony said in an interview last week, when he was still an Ajax player. But, you know, an Read more Simple intuition warns us to be wary. All the red flags are present and correct, given what we know about United, and particularly United in the transfer market, and particularly United in the transfer market in the final week of the window after a bad start to the season. The sense of urgency and panic. The vastly inflated fee for a 22-year-old forward who has never scored more than nine league goals in a season. The fact he was identified not through an exhaustive empirical analysis and scouting process but because the new manager knows him from Ajax. The mechanics of Antony’s transfer are emblematic of United’s many dysfunctions. The player himself, however: well, this makes a weird kind of sense. Antony may well go straight into the United team for Sunday’s game against Arsenal, and the irony is that he is joining a quite different club to the one that rekindled its efforts to sign him a fortnight ago. Three successive wins have...

Antony Manchester United debut: Brazilian starts, scores vs. Arsenal in Sunday's Premier League showdown

As the most expensive signing by any club in the 2022 summer transfer window, it's safe to say that expectations will be high as far as the impact that Brazilian Antony can have on Manchester United in 2022/23. The 22-year-old was the exclamation point on a summer during which new Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag attempted to upgrade the squad in the hope of injecting new life into a club coming off its worst Premier League finish. Alongside bringing in Christian Eriksen and Real Madrid's Casemiro, Ten Hag raided his former club Ajax, for Lisandro Martinez and Antony. Martinez has enjoyed a solid first month in Manchester, but Antony faces the prospect of performing under the pressure of a £90.5 million ($104.5m) price tag. Antony's arrival is United's second highest ever transfer outlay, behind Paul Pogba's £94.5 million return to the club from Juventus in 2016, and he went straight into the side for his club debut at home to Arsenal on Sunday, September 4. MORE: When did Antony sign with Manchester United? United confirmed a transfer fee was agreed with Ajax on August 30, but the final deal was only confirmed on Transfer Deadline Day (September 1).
